Xtra charge for MDR entrees???

I've heard that Holland America is now charging guests in the Main Dining Room extra for additional entrees should a cruiser decide to have more than one choice on a given night. Although I find that situation hard to believe, I have heard about this happening on more than one occasion. Does anyone out there have any knowledge or experience about this subject?

I'm aboard the Koningsdam today, and the MDR is offering the following entrees on their "Indulge" menu section with an upcharge. All others menu food items are no extra charge. We have not asked about whether they charge for a second helping.

JUMBO SHRIMP COCKTAIL* $8.50
dijon aïoli, lime
5oz. FILET MIGNON & 5oz. LOBSTER TAIL * $30
grilled asparagus, baked potato, garlic butter
PRESIDENT’S CUT 36oz. TOMAHAWK BONE-IN RIB EYE * $75
shallot confit, aged balsamic, green peppercorn, baked potato, creamed spinach
16oz. USDA PRIME DRY AGED DELMONICO STEAK* $40
shallot confit, aged balsamic, green peppercorn, baked potato, creamed spinach

Do they still have not-so-fancy steak and prime rib on the menu without added charge? Are all lobster meals an upsell now?

Those upcharges seem really up there. I know the prices are going to be higher than a standard restaurant, but still. Taking into account that the cruise fare already covers meals PLUS the extra charge just to have a meal in the PG, PLUS another charge for a 5 oz filet and a 5 oz lobster tail? I don’t have any words for the tomahawk cut - I love good steak. But 36 ounces 😳

These were the only items on the MDR menu with an upcharge.

Other restaurants have different menus.

I had the uncharge filet and lobster tail twice on the K-dam last month.  It was much better than any of the surf and turf they used to serve on gala nights.  In my opinion, it was Pinnacle quality.

Was on the Koningsdam in Jan. Someone in our party ordered two entrees in the main dining room one evening. The server never blinked. Brought them both. No extra charge. No food waste either because he finished them both.
