Rare jc foster Posted April 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2022 We have booked a Premium Balcony on the Emerald. The description says 271 sf. . Is that additional space all extra balcony ? Is there any extra interior room over a standard balcony ? Thanks

Not any extra space in the cabin, no extra perks, nada - just "better" location. You may have a larger than standard balcony, if you're on Caribe deck on Emerald Princess, you definitely have an oversized balcony, about 9' x 9', half covered half uncovered. There's nothing different about the cabin itself at all..

Then the interior is the standard balcony configuration, 191 sq ft with one desk chair. The balcony is 9ft x 9ft with 5ft of cover and 4ft not covered. With very few exceptions across the entire fleet all balcony cat cabins have the same interiors. Edited April 24, 2022 by skynight

Esprit Posted April 24, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 24, 2022 Caribe deck balconies are just the best for the price category on Grand Princess class ships
Cruzinnana47 Posted April 24, 2022 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2022 If you're going to be in a cabin on Caribe deck, mid-ship, then that is a great location with, as others have said, a larger, half-covered balcony. We love the Caribe deck balconies! Enjoyed ours with an ultimate balcony dinner--plenty of room. Enjoy!
Rare scooter6139 Posted April 24, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 24, 2022 I think the Deluxe Balcony cabins are slightly larger, at least on the Royal class ships. In between a balcony and mini-suite size. We had one selected until we upgraded.

And yes, Deluxe Balcony cabins are only on Royal class ships. OP is sailing on Emerald, a Grand/Gem class ship. And it doesn't have Deluxe Balcony cabins.. They're asking about a Premium Balcony - and the cabin itself is same size. Premium refers to location, and may include a larger than standard balcony (which it appears to in this case). Reina del Mar Posted April 25, 2022 #10 Share Posted April 25, 2022 Just returned from mid ship Premium Balcony on Caribe deck on Emerald Princess. Inside space seemed the same size as other balconies but balcony was much larger. Chairs still uncomfortable though !!! Excellent steward called Franco.
