Doctors note no longer required for medical exemption

Carnival Cruise Line is now permitting guests who are medically unable to be vaccinated to set sail without presenting a doctor’s note at embarkation to stipulate to their medical exemption.

They still need a vaccine exemption from Carnival in advance. These are not granted at the port and are limited in number.

This only applies to Caribbean sailings, so not to Alaska, Mexico, Europe, TA’s, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the testing requirement gone by the end of the month.

You’re correct.  I was thinking of the Mexican Riviera cruises out of Long Beach.  The Mexican ports visited on Caribbean cruises would be included in the “no doctor’s note required.”

It is still not a free for all like many are implying.  You still have to be granted one of the limited exemption slots to even get to the second step.  If you happen to be granted one you requested under a medical exemption you just don't have to have a letter from your doctor now.

This is bad for people who legitimately cannot take the vaccine.

Surely you jest. Princess and Holland have added mask requirements back for Alaska cruises. I wouldn't be surprised if that expands.
