Wok Szechuan Sauce

Does anyone have the recipe?  The Carnival version has just the right amount of sweet and heat.  (Yes, I want my mouth to burn a little.)

 

I have tried making stir-fry at home using bottled sauce without success in cloning the Carnival flavor.  While onboard a few months ago, I asked to see the bottle label, and it was explained to me they make the sauce (as with multiple ingredients).  I can find Szechuan sauce recipes online, but it sure would truncate my wasted time and ingredients to have the real deal recipe.

I would be interested in this, too.  I make my own hot sauce, but it does not have the same consistency as the sauce on the ships.

It’s very good and although I consider myself some what of a crew whisperer, I’ve yet to find a wok specialist that was interested in being friendly. 😆 Sorry I can’t help.

It’s at the wok station on the Conquest and in JiJi’s on Dream class ships.

My local Aldi carries General Tso, Sweet & Sour and Teriyaki.  I have not their version.

No, Yum Yum Sauce is a white sauce, often used for seafoods (esp. shrimp), whereas the Szechuan / Sichuan sauce is a dark sauce, spicy, often with some peanut flavoring, typically used for other meats.

 

I honestly can't remember what the Szechuan sauce is like on Carnival - guess I find out next cruise!

I'm intrigued by anything spicy. My poor stomach isn't.lol
