Need clarification re cabin quarantine?

Apologize in advance if this has been discussed over and over but new to the RCI forum.   

 

If someone tests positive while on a RCI cruise, are they reassigned to quarantine in another cabin while positive?  And if so, similar level cabin or inside cabin?

There is no it always will be this rule. ..you will often be reassigned unless near the end of your cruise. It might be a inside but could be something else.

There's not set policy here. You would likely be moved to the quarantine area. I've seen OV and inside cabins, based on pics and people I've known that got moved to quarantine.

 

Someone from RC Blog (unaffiliated with RCI) posted that on their Alaska cruise, they were quarantined to their own stateroom, but it was toward the end of cruise.

Here is what goes on… you bring your own test kits… you test positive… you mostly quarantine in your stateroom and wear your KN95… your travel partner wears a KN95 and brings you food… your travel partner hopes for the best.

I can't imagine red zone quarantines last much longer, if they're even doing them anymore. That's a bunch of rooms they can't open up for booking otherwise.

You can bet RCI will market them as special and charge more for them.

Well the red zone rooms are now "historic" rooms.

A friend recently cruised on Mariner and his daughter tested positive about halfway through. His wife moved with the daughter to a quarantine cabin while he stayed in the booked cabin with their other daughter.

In March one afternoon we forgot to flip the "sleeping off our adventure" magnet to "out seeking thrills" and didn't notice until late that night.

 

We thought for sure we'd get a knock on the door or a call from medical asking what's up.

Seems to me that the ideal situation would be to test on your own and self quarantine.   Kind of challenging when you also want your family members (including 3 young children) to stay negative.
