I get your point but I cannot stomach the house edge for slots. And I can’t do what your husband does - I’m more introverted. So for Celebrity, my strategy will probably to play VP.

Just so you know we lead the lifestyle your trying to attain. Husband is Sapphire@BCC, Signature@ Club Royale, Diamond Plus (down from 7*)@Caesars Rewards,Platinum@MGM Rewards, Rock Royalty@HardRock. We have taken 10 cruises (11 but had to cancel one because of covid) this year all comped, best year was 12. W2G's amount to over 6 figures the last several years. And we are by far nowhere near some of the people I've gotten to know over the years with the comps they have attained because we just don't have the resources to dedicate any more towards gambling. But i think we have found a good fit for our lifestyle (we are retired).

My husband used to solely be a table games player but realized we were not getting any comped casino room offers from Atlantic City for his table games play and his mom who played two hundred dollars a visit would get room offers galore. After speaking with the pit bosses and doing research he concluded that if he wanted to get complementaries for his gaming dollars he had to include slots.  This was about 15 years ago and we've never looked back.

If pit bosses do not care how you bet just the total amount, wouldn't betting $ 50 on both Pass line and Don't Pass line on each throw of the craps table provide better odds for the player than doing the same on black/read in roulette?

The only time the player would lose is if a 12 is thrown on a come out roll.

Are the ship casinos all "Bar 12"?

That’s good input - many thanks! Maybe I will mix in 10% slots……although I’m not that interested in comped hotel rooms……..

Am surprised you don’t have status with Carnival/Princess or NCL as well. Have you or your husband ever tried to ask those lines to match a comped cruise that you’ve gotten from RCL/Celebrity? I know URComped doesn’t work with RCL/Celebrity/NCL…..

Carnival's Casino program doesn't have a transparent tier program, meaning it's not a published tier ranking, but we most certainly do travel on Carnival comped cruises;doing 6 this year with Carnival. My husband loves Carnival's casinos the best since they always have the latest slots. One of their best casino offers is called an Elite cruise. Carnival will give slot or table credit of $500-$1000;free balcony room;free port transfers or port parking, free drink package for 2 people to be used anywhere on the ship; a free port excursion for 2 or $300 spa credit; free logo gifts, and other gifts.

We used to sail on NCL comped but we hated the administration fees that amounted to over $300/cabin which isn't rebated back ( a higher tier level does get those admin fees waived).

We sailed on a comped Princess cruise with a certificate from Venetian Las Vegas but we don't particularly care for Princess so not persuing them.

URcomped most certainly does work with Royal, but not NCL. We're going on MSC this coming Saturday via URcomped.

URcomped also works with Virgin. We did our 1st Virgin in July and although the casino was tiny he had fun in the casino and the cruise was great!

I don't know... for whatever reason Carnival constantly sends me offers like free suite plus $500 free play but as an active gambler I could go for free on pretty much any cruise line so it never occurred to me to even consider Carnival. Maybe a Panama Canal or Alaska cruise wouldn't be too bad.

Highly recommend a new ship either the Mardi Gras or the Celebration (starts sailing in Nov) which has a lot more to do on sea days than X and tons of restaurant choices including guys burgers, guys BBQ or Shaq's fried chicken.  They have very low cover charge specialty restaurants as well.  Other than the Celebration's inaugural TA, both ships are in the Caribbean although there are some one-off itineraries including a 8 nighter that only goes to the ABC islands.

Yup!  URComped works only the following cruise lines, X, RCL, VV, MSC and Margaritaville.  If you link your MGM account to BCC and have enough quarterly play at MGM you'll be awarded comped X offers without any gambling requirements

Sounds great! Surprised you and DH don’t care for Princess when it’s Carnival’s more premium line and their comps (‘free cruises’) are therefore ‘worth’ more……..plus their free cruise offer is valid for 3 bookings……

I’ve sailed MSC and their Yacht Club is definitely the way to go so not sure if you’re doing that. It’s similar to NCL’s Haven concept but more reasonable…..they also have nice ships but their other offerings (non-specialty dining/entertainment) cannot match Carnival or RCL IMO. Casino is ok but no craps……. Play through $3.6k to get 30% off coupon or $30k to get free cruise is not prohibitive……. I have a cruise in March next year on the new Seashore as a comped cruise from Ocean Casino AC…..

I’ve heard great things about the food with VV so I’m gonna try them through URComped but yes, have heard that their casino is pretty small……

I echo the above comment. I just did my first ever Carnival cruise on the Vista in August (comped balcony). I’ll admit that my family and i had my biases against Carnival going in (I’m Diamond on RCL) but all of us were very pleasantly surprised by the end of the cruise. The ships and entertainment aren’t as good as the newest RCL ships but their non-specialty dining is far better. Don’t knock

Are you able to get Shareholder OBC for your casino comped cruises?

I can't be 100% certain about Carnival since I'm not a stockholder but I'm a Royal stockholder and it doesn't apply for Royal or Celebrity comped cruises. So it's been about 10 years since we've been able to get shareholder OBC on Royal or Celebrity since it's been that long since we've been sailing on comped cruises.

You may want to try again re: RCL and Celebrity if you haven’t done so recently. Apparently there was a policy change in Jun 2019 and you may still get the $100 OBC now.

Carnival shares are super cheap now so since you and DH sail Carnival so much you could buy 100 shares and try. 100 shares of Carnival is less than 1100 at this time and you can literally sell it again once you get / don’t get the OBC.

Is this a new rule.  On my last cruise back in 2019 I was allowed to use promotional chips on the outside.

Couldn't on Silhouette last year or in May this year - basically no even money bets allowed. Clearly a rule designed to stop you converting nonrefundable OBC into cash. Rule only applies to nonrefundable not travel agent or other OBC.
