Do they need printed in color?

No I haven't printed them in color in years and no issues.

I had the guy that handles the bags staple my black and white tags to my luggage and tipped him. I dont have a color printer .

Get my bags every time .

Only people who are Diamond Plus print in color.

 

Because it makes it much easier for others to know they are "Diamond Plus".

Mine say “VIP” in red!

Mine only shows the cabin number and section...no C&A level.  Like it that way.  😉

I cruised RCL about a year ago and only have a B&W laser printer.  I had no issues with B&W luggage tags.

We have been printing black and white for a while with no problems. Printed color for last cruise because my wife did it at work. The color codes do mean something to the porters and maybe make their job easier but lack of color doesn't keep your luggage from being delivered. All that said, the color ones look cool.

Maybe the OP was looking for an excuse to buy a new color printer?

In that case, we should say yes, you need to print in color.
