Back to Back Cruise

Recommended Posts

We are scheduled for the October 22 sailing on Symphony of the Seas.  I booked another week on the same ship for the following week.  I have only done one other back to back cruise.  We did not have to get off the ship the last time.  I inquired if we would be able to stay on the ship like we did the last time and the gal told me that since Covid things may have changed.  Because we booked so close to sailing we have to move cabins for the second week.  Can anyone help me understand what to expect with our bags and if we need to leave the ship and re-board?  Thank you

Your cabin attendant will move everything to your new cabin. You can leave anything hanging up in the closet where it is, you just pack everything else in your luggage and it will be waiting for you when you are allowed into your next cabin.

We switched cabins on Indy in July, couldn't have gone more smoothly.

I would enclose your hanging items in a light weight garment carrier.

Whilst changing cabins is not difficult and many will describe it as an “easy” process, my personal experience was that I “lost” three hanging items during the transfer. Therefore, IF I had to change cabins again I would enclose the items so they cannot accidentally fall off the transfer cart and disappear. We have done several B2B but I try to book the same cabin now for both legs although I realize that  isn’t always possible.

Be sure and check for a b2b lunch. I missed quite a few it seems. It will be in a corner perhaps of the mdr. I only mentioned  it because I wasnt paying attention I guess and missed that they have them often.

Menu so so, but quiet and away from the rest of those jamming the WJ.

Did you have to exit the ship?  We are unable to stay in our home on Fort Myers Beach so I added another week to our cruise so we would have a place to stay until we get power and water after the hurricane.

We've done b2b before and after Covid and the process hasn't changed.  But, it does vary between ships and ports.  Some you have to get off and walk through the port by CBP (we've done that both before and after Covid).  Some you walk right back on, some you don't and you have to wait a bit.  Some you don't have to get off (not our experience on any of ours). We've had a b2b lunch on all of ours.  Once in Giovannis (Oasis), once in the Solarium Bistro (Harmony) and once in the MDR (EN).    You won't know til you actually do it.  We're on a b2b on Jewel in 30 days so we'll see how they handle it.

Our experience has been similar to @BND.

It varies from  ship to ship and port to port but you will receive a notice in your stateroom  the day before. You will meet at a designated place and be escorted through the procedure. You might want to check at guest services mid cruise that they have you listed as B2B.

Your account from one cruise will be closed out and a new set sail pass issued at the changeover procedure.

I just did a b-3-b on the Symphony and had to move twice because I had a different cabin each cruise.  I was instructed to pack all my stuff by 9 a.m., and the bags would be moved to my next cabin when I cleared customs.

Do you have to test before the initial cruise since the B2B combination is longer than 9 days?

No. Ignore the logic but they are treated as two totally independent cruises.
