Can we make a 10:10 flight time out of EWR (Oasis)

Hi everyone & TYIA!

Travel Date:  June 16, 2023.

Once again United Airlines has changed my "perfect" non-stop flight time of 11:30 am.  We business purposes we have to be back home by 4 pm.   After departing Oasis to EWR our 2 options are either 9:29 am or 10:10 am so that we can be home by 4 pm.  We will be the first escorted off the ship so no concerns there.  Will taxi from Liberty to EWR and do have TSA pre-check.  Very seasoned travelers.   I'm leaning more towards the 10:10am flight (figure I can always reschedule it we are running late and miss the flight).

What are your thoughts?

That would be my thought as well-- 9:29 will be tough but 10:10 is possibly doable.

I wouldn't necessarily rely on a local taxi with the tight squeeze you have. I would set up a car service that will be there and waiting so you can depart as soon as you leave the ship.

I thought you were traveling on a Sunday but it is a Friday morning. A 10 am weekday flight would cause stress for me despite the airport being about 10 miles from Cape Liberty. Just got off Oasis on Sunday, definitely do self assist and have a pre arranged ride. I used taxi service from Cape Liberty December 2021 and it was not well organized. Some cruisers who were waiting 30 minutes were still waiting when the taxi I used departed.

After facial recognition, exit the terminal to the left then walk right to the car services pick up zone. There are overhead hanging numbers to identify your location. If you do use taxi, you must walk to zone 10 then cross 2 crosswalks to the taxi pick up area.

I was shocked when I contacted United yesterday to change the flight time.  Even though they changed my original reservation to a time that didn't work for me - they wanted me to pay $50 per person to make a change.  It took over 2 hours on the phone to finally get the flight changed without any penalty.  I am still amazed.  Needless to say, United will be last on my list of airlines I fly.

Can anyone recommend a reliable car service - In the past I've used Carmel when we stayed in NYC with no problem but just wanted to see if there were other options.

They know and unfortunately they don't really care. The big three just trade prisoners these days who have no choice in who they fly for the most part.

Given the tight turn I would set it up with Carmel or Dial7-- you don't need anything fancy, just something to physically be there when you get off the ship waiting for you (as opposed you waiting for them). I would have Uber and Lyft downloaded and ready to go in the instance that they don't show or are late. You don't have much margin to waste time.

EWR is the airport nearest us and one used most frequently.   It has always been recommended to be at the airport at least 2 hrs early to get through security.
Sometimes we have plenty of time to spare.  Sometimes, not so much if the security lines are long or if the concourse has been changed at the last minute and then you have to take the mono to get to the correct concourse and gate.  Imo, get off the ship fast because you are pushing it.
