Ground transportation from Ft Lauderdate hotel to Port Everglades

We are going to be spending the night before our cruise at a hotel TBD in the Ft Lauderdale area. What's the best way to get from the hotel to Port Everglades? Normally I'd use Uber, but I'm thinking they might be in short supply on a cruise embarkation day. (We are leaving on Wednesday, March 22, if that makes a difference.) Thanks!

Many hotels offer a shuttle service to PE. You can sign up for this service when you check in, or simply call a taxi.

I would taxi rather than use the hotel shuttle...On your timeframe and less expensive. Most hotels taxi's will be lined up on cruise day...they know the schedules.

Most hotels are very close to FFL, 2-5 miles.

Shuttle pricing is per passenger while Uber, Lyft and taxis are per vehicle.  Uber and Lyft charges depend on the size of the vehicle but van taxis charge the same as sedan taxis. With Uber, Lyft and taxis you are transported directly to your ship without stopping at other terminals and, as @Ashlandnoted, you travel on your time schedule.

Hotels on 17th street or near Las Olas or in Dania Beach are not far from Port Everglades. Maybe 15 minutes in a cab for Las Olas and Dania Beach. 6 minutes for 17th street.
