When I used to work (LOL) I used several websites to purchase photos/artwork for graphic projects. There was a photographer that I worked with who told me that he started "listing" his work for sale on one of these sites to make up for some of the business lost when a segment of his client base started doing their own photos in-house with digital cameras - at that time was making about half of his income from this. Basically, anyone can "choose" a photo to be used for a project and pay either by picture or quarterly, etc.

I know there are probably some copyright issues that would need to be checked, but I think many of your photos are better than what I've had to pick from in the past for projects. You are a gifted photographer!

Glad you enjoyed your day in San Juan.  We stayed at the Casablanca hotel in August and ate at both Cafe El Punto and Barrachina.  Surprisingly, service was better at El Punto.  Food was good in both places and my husband also had the whole fish - he loved it.

OSJ is a great place to spend a day. We would always choose a beach but with no great beach option here wandering the old city eating and drinking is great for us. We missed out on the Bacardi tour due to Covid. We will hit that up next time we are there. Enjoy the day. SPF 30 is your friend.

I did the mixology class which was pretty decent.  The tour that we had, not so much.

By this time I still had nowhere in particular in mind to go. I'm normally much more prepared, but things seem to be falling apart in the preparedness department for me lately. I had an entire year to get ready for this and I flubbed it...

Okay, I went and took another shower right quick. I didn't want to get in bed later all sweaty from the day. I stopped by Alchemy, but it was packed. I just Big Nikola to give me a shot of straight tequila. Anejo to be precise.

Special thanks to all of you readers who've made it this far. The followers, the lurkers, and even that one troll... I'm making a list, and I'll personally thank you all when I get back home... We continue.

La Perla?

If so, I'm glad and your lucky to still be alive.

My SO’s doctor is from Puerto Rico.  At an office visit last week, he made a list of places in San Juan he thought we would enjoy.  Fourteen places, and one comment at the bottom - “Careful at La Perla”.

Oh, yes - wandering the streets of Old San Juan - I, too, thought it looked like an old European city (1975 on Sitmar Fairwind and had not been to Europe at that time) and it still does.  I have stayed pre-cruise at Hotel Milano - we did El Convento for dinner one night.  Always wonder why I have never just come to Puerto Rico for vacation?  Love the streets and alleys, the wrought iron gates and balconies, the fort on Sunday with kites flying, the colorful art and flowers and the sail away.......  Thanks for bringing back those great memories - Sail On, Sid!

About five minutes later, I was done with that. The waiter kept walking by, and my plates were empty, but he just kept going to other tables.

When I go out to a restaurant, I start at a baseline tip of 20%... Now, this tip can go up, or it can stay the same, or it can go down depending on the service. After he walked by fifteen times, his tip was hovering in the 10% zone... FINALLY, he brought me the check, and I calculated the exact amount including his now greatly diminished tip, and left exact change. I didn't even wait for him to come and take the money, I just went to wash my hands and left.

Exactly what we do too. So our frequently visited local places take great care of us, they know 😉

That's what I've read, so I've never gone down the hill there back into that neighborhood...

That was pretty much my day here... I'm definitely not going to be getting my money's worth out of the Cheers! Package tonight. If I want any chance of making a decent day in St Maarten, I'm going to have to be up and ready to go early tomorrow. I've been averaging ten or eleven hours of sleep every night so far, but I might have to cut some corners somewhere...
