larry_s_taco Posted December 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2022 We are on the Breakaway in Feb. How essential is getting reservations for the shows in the theater? Will they turn you away without a reservation? The cruises we have been on in the past we just showed up and walked in. No one even checked for reservations. We like to go with the flow of the evening, and I would hate to make reservations and then not show up knowing someone may be denied a seat. PegNRay Posted December 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2022 You do need to make a reservation as they do check. There is always a stand by line that opens to the theatre about 10 minutes before the show starts. At that point seat selection will not be that great. You need a reservation. Without a reservation, you can stand-by for the show, but will have to wait until 10 minutes prior to show time before entering the theater. At that time, you are free to take any seat that no one else wanted. Right now, SIX is very popular.

lostone65 Posted December 15, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2022 Just off the Breakaway on the 11th and we got in to every show via the standby line without a problem as we like to go with the flow also and were let in between 15-20 minutes before show time. There were only 2 of us and we never had trouble finding good seats either on the aisle or a few seats in. I wouldn't worry about reservations unless you have a larger party. Six is a must see and so are the comedy shows in Headliners.

Always able to get in right before the show starts (don’t go AFTER the show starts….you won’t be able to see to find a seat, plus it’s rude). There really isn’t a bad seat in the theater!
Topdog52 Posted January 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2023 On the Joy we went to the comedy club to book all our entertainment as soon as we boarded. We filled out our sheets for shows and times, it was very easy. Is there a place on the Breakaway that you can do all this at one spot?

We loved it so much when we saw it soon after the re-start on the Breakaway (our first time seeing it) that we went back the second night. (It was very simple to do that then, since the ship was only at 38% occupancy.) The Breakaway Theatre is beautiful. We've since seen the American touring company of SIX, as well as the production in London, which was beyond fabulous.
