I have a 2 night sampler cruise coming up and I have a pretty good OBC I want to cash out .

Are the casinos open? The ship will probably just be off the coast.

Come on Chilli how do you get  OBC on a 2 day cruise?

Can’t answer your question but if this is on the Ovation, I was interested in this cruise because it was over a weekend.  Eventually decided it was too expensive for just two nights and that we would need longer than 2 days to experience the Ovation for the first time.

Yes ovation, I usually don’t do those kind of cruises but we booked it years ago for someone’s birthday. After being canceled a couple of times during the pandemic here we are but they are a hoot of a time.

If you want to try the big ship ,a Tasmania cruise is a good value cruise.

Ships want to make the most they can out of these short cruises, so I am pretty sure Ovation will be going far enough out to sea in order to open their casino and shops.

Sounds like those booze cruises they used to (do?) run between Scandinavia and Germany / the Baltic states.

Leave Scandi on Friday afternoon and come back early Monday morning.

As soon as they were out of local waters,  the bars were open and tax free.

Monday morning they basically had to hose down the ship....

We did one on Solstice a few years ago and the Casino was open. We went from Sydney to just off Nelson Bay and back. It was a nice weekend away but very boozy, Captain kicked one group off before we left Sydney, also couldn’t try a lot of options I guess unlike a longer cruise everyone was trying to cram in everything.

$500 U.S .non refundable.

We have a suite and it was lifted and shifted from a couple of years ago.
It’s mine and I want it .

come on @arxcardsyou have a answer to everything.

Hi Chilli, I'm interested in this also. For our March Ovation NZ cruise we have quite a nice amount of OBC that I can't see us spending too much of as we are not likely to take ship tours or pay for specialty dining etc, and, with our 8 C&A drinks between us, our drinks bill won't use up the credit.

So apart from maybe the extended version of North Star we won't spend too much, and it seems a waste to just spend for the sake of using up the credit.

Did you do North Star?

Random question - did you notice if they had a darts board in the pub onboard? Maybe you were busy keeping you distance from the Chinese ladies or the cougars 😦

Cheers

Currently on Ovation and I understand they have stopped you getting money out from the Casino. If you are using OBC in the Casino, I understand that you can only get vouchers! Not completely sure, but we were just discussing this with some other passengers as we have now missed two ports and not sure what compensation they will be offering and we do not want money to spend on board.

I was on Ovation 2 weeks ago and used the casino on the last night to get US300 non-refundable OBC in cash. I didn't play any machines.

Yeh those cougars, uncle Les has wised me up.

Now for the OBC .

I cashed out $400US on last Tuesday so it does still work .

Now to explain how , I sure someone is going say I’m wrong.

The casino is different to the ship ,it’s casino Royal, I believe it has links to MGM gaming.

What you have to do is transfer money from your Ship account (RCCL)to the casino (Casino Royal).
It’s a legitimate expense against your ship account and now it can be cashed out .

You can get a instruction card from the cashier but here’s what it looks like.

Dard board,I don’t really know.

There used to be another way but I can’t confirm you can still do it.

What you had to do is go to guest service and remove you credit card as a guarantee on your account. And set up a cash account.

It used to be possible to get a cash advance against you onboard account to tip your cabin attendant.

But , as I said,no one can confirm if it can still be done that way.

I will have a go, but last time I tried something similar on another ship, I got the money added to my shipboard account and had to pay, but as we have now 4 sea days I might as well try!😷😷😷😩😩😩

Just check your account balance.

I found the TV was wrong but the app was correct.

If , as you said , just go back to guest service and put it back in.

But I did it last Tuesday.
