Any news on Arvia maiden voyage

I am looking forward to trying the American Diner on Arvia!  But then I ate every other day for over five years at the Starlite Diner in Moscow, so I probably have an addiction.

On Iona in November, I found that careful planning and early use of the meal booking app avoided the problems of waiting for dining slots. Given the overall price of the cruise, we were happy to pay moderate upcharges for speciality dining and hardly patronised the two big MDRs at all. Looks like the Xmas meal over-rode all the pre-booking opportunities and didn't work too well?

I asked a question about the Times article via the P&O official social media page.

I received a very quick reply, obviously pre-prepared. I would imagine that the P&O PR team have been urgently recalled from their Christmas holidays.

Would you mind letting us know their response please, wowzz?

Can’t imagine why

Yes, they are; although I do believe a couple of dishes in the Olive Grove may carry a surcharge.

Other included dining options are the three in the Quays - Roast, Fusion and Hook, Line & Vinegar.

But for how long, I wonder? I remember that when the Beach House was introduced on Ventura it was as a no extra charge alternative to the MDR. It specialised in "comfort food" - fish and chips, sausage and mash etc - and was very popular. Queues formed at opening time; there were no reservations. Then after a few years it morphed into a "select" restaurant carrying an extra charge. I wonder how long it will be before the above follow suit?

Reply as follows-

We are so sorry to learn of the issues some guests are experiencing on Arvia’s maiden cruise. We are working to rectify the issues being raised by the comments that we are receiving and please rest assured, these are being fed back to the ship as a matter of urgency. Every effort is being made to deliver an enhanced experience to make the cruise memorable and we are sorry for any current disappointment and frustrations experienced.

Thanks for that, wowzz.

Although it sounds like the cruise will be memorable for all the wrong reasons!!!

I remember when the Beach House was ‘free’ but it was Italian food when we went. It was great, much preferred that than the food they do now. There were more queues each night as word got round! They called it something like Venezia or Verona.

I think the Italian version was on Azura, and it was very nice

It was lovely, great food and I can't remember the name either!  Was it Sorrento?
