If this happened at sea, how would you contact anyone to let them know? The more I thought of that the more I kept coming back to ..I would post something here and hope my fellow passengers who were following along would call someone for us. How were you able to get back into your room? Usually someone around your side of the ship is on the balcony or has the doors open. Otherwise it’d take about half a day until the cabin steward is back for his last day of work. 😆 I’m puzzled about tomorrow as it shows on the planner Colon with excursions for Panama City and Panama Canal/Locks. Are we passing the locks tomorrow morning and then dock somewhere?

If I remember correctly we will be approaching the locks around 0530-0600 on Wednesday morning and should complete the transit about six and a half hours later. All depends on traffic in the canal. If only Posted April 25, 2023 #281 Share Posted April 25, 2023 7 hours ago, DaKahuna said: Well that was a first! My wife and I were relaxing on our balcony and our stateroom attendant finished cleaning the room and stepped out to make sure we did not need anything. We assured him that everything was great. He left and we continued to talk to each other. My wife got up to get something from the room only to find the balcony door locked. Apparently out stateroom attendant had locked it from force of habit when he closed the door after speaking to us. Fortunately we are on the starboard side and I was able to shout and get the attention of a crew member on the dock who contacted our stateroom attendant. A very embarrassed young man came and let us back into the room! We had that happen to us on the Millennium on our April 8th cruise. I think the room stewards have been told to automatically lock the door. They just sometimes forget that we are out there.

Pretty much a muscle memory thing was my thought.
Rare DaKahuna Posted April 25, 2023 Author #283 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Tonight’s Food porn Amuse bouche starters Roasted apple & hearty green salad for DW (not her favoite) Seafood veloute for me, not bad .. rich and creamy. Waitress poured the soup before I could grab a photo of the crab, caviar, etc.. and we shared the Ginger crab cake (delicious) My DW had the moscato she had earlier in the cruise and I went with an Italian Merlot as the Columbia Crest and other Washington state Merlot’s are not in stock For her main course the DW had the ‘cornish game hen’ which I agree is not a game hen. and i had the perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious lamb For dessert my wife had the Lemon Olive Oil Custard and for the second night in a row I had the Raspberry Pistachio Vacherin from the Daniel Boulud menu right now we are relaxing in the Rendevous Lounge ready to watch the Officer’s vs Guest game show.
Purplsmurf Posted April 25, 2023 #284 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Do you happen to know if the California roll is real crab or imitation? I’m gluten free so can’t eat much from the menu, but can eat that if it’s real crab.

Rare Fly and Sail Posted April 25, 2023 #288 Share Posted April 25, 2023 Are they going to stamp passports today in Panama or is that simply a legal requirement to keep carrying them around. It would make for a nice souvenir.

Rare DaKahuna Posted April 25, 2023 Author #298 Share Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) Speaking of lunch, we decided to give the Retreat Sundeck a try. It was sunny but not over bearingly hot. We shared an order of shrimp cocktail and both had the roasted Turkey BLT Wrap which was delicious. Edited April 25, 2023 by DaKahuna
Rare DaKahuna Posted April 25, 2023 Author #299 Share Posted April 25, 2023 I have been thinking about this for a couple of days now but keep forgetting to comment on it. The men who are reading this and have sailed on S-class ships may agree or now but I miss the riddles, quizzes, and quotes that are posted above the urinals in the public men’s restrooms on the S-class ships. I use to make a point of visiting as many as I could find just to read the ‘writing on the walls.’ I also miss the automatic door open and close buttons for the restroom doors.

I hope my husband do not see this and get any ideas for bathroom decoration at home. I need him to concentrate on keeping the area clean, and finish the business fast to make the facility available to others.
