It was lovely! Walk in closet, lots of closet space, bath tub, larger balcony.  Eventually I’ll get the videos up, here are a few stills—evidently there are only 24 suites on the ship, so you are lucky to have it!

I also have an OS booked for 2024 … thank you so much for these pictures!

Easy Question i hope. Did you get the try fold ship deck plan when you got on? I am sure you know they show the ship and all the levels.

No, these were not provided; I haven’t seen these for quite some time. There were very clear maps at all the elevators, and I used those and the app.

Watched the live chat. Some very nice info. Could not figure out how to post a chat message. Wanted me to create a site and add a photo which i did but nothing ever happened. Very glad internet is so good. Sailing June 19th. 8 Days to HMC and Amber Cove

Thank you for joining us! We were really nervous about it, since it was our first YT live. I think you have to have a YouTube log in to post a chat message.  Internet is great; so happy with it, but would give anything for 2 devices to be on one paid internet plan.  You sail soon; I’m excited to hear how the first sailings out of NYC go. And let me know here if you still have any unanswered questions!

Thank you!

I took video of the cabin crawl, with permission from the room guests. I can try to pull some stills out of that if there is any particular room you’d like to see, or I can just post some of the more interesting rooms—like the one that had the standard bathroom AND then also had a mini one with a dressing table and a nice, deep tub! I think that was an ocean view. We also saw an Ocean Suite, a balcony, and an interior.

Laundry was $15 a bag “special” .  You can really stuff those bags and get quite a bit of laundry done.

We did laundry and no complaints; I was quite happy with the service.

I can watch the cabin crawl video on You Tube if you have it there. If not, pix would be nice.

Yes, ma'am, I could probably medal in laundry bag stuffing, lol!! Can I prepay or is it onboard only? We're on 2 weeks in Sept.

I didn't know Carnival even did those.  I always just used the app.

We don't use the app, phones are locked away on all cruises except one when we get off the ship in case of emergency. Really hope they have the ship maps.

There are some pics in the thread above—will add more later.  So far only YT video on cabins is the Terrazza Cabana—but the room itself is the same as the balcony cabins except for a little decor.

Woke up to white out fog (which I expected since K had heard the fog horn multiple times already. I felt badly for the upper rooms due to fog horn noise—not so bad on Deck 5 but very loud up here on the Lido.

Also woke up to rain.  Husband had cabin fever.  We are up on the Lifo betting on the horse race—it is Throwback Day.

If we did not have to be somewhere I would have sent it back.

DH likes it that way so I knew it wouldn’t! kill me, but chefs//waiters need to learn the difference between rare and medium rare ASAP!

Lesson learned, order one level more done than you normally would!

Thank you!  That looks nice and roomy.  We'll (3 of us) be in 9205 (forward angled) which will be a bit different, but I'm not concerned.

Pool is a sloshing!  Here is a brief video of sloshing pool and fog horn.  Well if it will load.

I’m standing by the horse race and having to actively balance.

Ok so video won’t load. Sigh.

In any event our horse #2 won. Bet was $2 and won $13.  Now off to our Terrazza Steakroom special Brunch!

The special Steakhouse lunch was superb.

I did not get the steak (I’m a little fooded-out and we also have the last Formal night tonight with the throwback menu AND the formal Captain’s Cocktail party).  BUT the steak—Steak and Eggs with Filet) was cooked well and also thick (next table over ordered it).

We had the Avocado Toast Caprese (perfect—don’t know where they have tasty cherry tomatoes 4 sea days in but yum with a perfect poached egg and good avocado), the Mushroom Soup with Pastry Crust (hot hot hot and great mushroom flavor; lovely pastry).

For mains we had the Rustic Shrimp Quiche (also super hot and nice flavors with excellent pastry crust) and the Pork Milanese (delicious, again piping hot, crispy pan-fry).

Mimosas (or an Apple alcoholid drink I didn’t catch the name of) was included.

For dessert I had the Profiterole Haystack (can’t say enough good things about it—matches the Mile High Gelato pie in YUM factor, which I had at Il Viaggio) and Russ had the Bread and Butter Pudding (the only item we had that wasn’t hot enough),  Really enjoyed it; photos below!

If you don’t want to use app, I would suggest printing out the decks at home you will need the most, and bringing along, just in case.

Overall what do you think of this ship & the quality of the food?
How does it compare to NCL or Royal?

I've been on many cruises & love it, but all on NCL & Royal Caribbean.

My very first cruise was on Carnival & it was so bad I didn't cruise again for 11 years. I am giving it another shot after 22 years...hope it's gotten better!

@jayjay10704 For me better than NCL unless I’m in the Haven, but so much is personal taste.  The food on this particular Carnival ship is way up there—one of my favorites.

I’m taking my first RC Cruise in October.  I have heard not great things about the RC new menu//MDR so I have the UDP—we shall see!

Glad to hear we just sailed NCL out of Boston in the Haven. Very disappointed in breakfast and lunch venues MDR was hit or miss the buffet was good. Looking forward to Carnival your food porn is great. Hope we have the same menus in Aug./Sept. looking forward to trying so many new items.

I hope you have the same menus as well! Can’t wait to hear what you think. It was great fun to have so many new menu items this trip since we’ve sailed with Carnival quite a bit recently.

We put in for dinner at 5:15, since we knew with such a good Throwback Formal night menu the wait would likely be long. Were seated at 5:50; took awhile for our order to be taken and we were finished with dinner about 7:25, so not as bad as first formal night we did.

Food was worth waiting for. We decided to skip appetizers and get 2 entress instead, plus the Baked Alaska.

We both started with the lobster tail with Gulf Shrimp. Lobster was perfect tonight, “Maine white” cooked; shrimp just OK; nice mushroom risotto side.  Served hot.

Then I had the Beef Wellington. Great cut of meat; perfectly medium rare (unlike last night), with some nice root veggies and mashed potataoes I did not eat (just didn’t need them after the risotto). Served warm enough. Had the Josh Cellars Merlot with that.

Russ had the Coq au Vin which was excellent.

Baked Alaska. So yummy and the only time I ever seem to have it is occasionally on a cruise ship.

We finished dinner in time for Arvin Mitchell, very funny comedian in Punchliner.

Then we cashed out my casino $$. Decided I was still up for the week and should stop. I was more up yesterday but didn’t stop. It’s not true, I CAN still learn, albeit slowly.

Hmm..I think I forgot to add Italian Festival photos last night. I’ve thrown in one of us with MarQ.

Tonight I’m all done with food, entertainment, socializing, photographing…heading in for a nice, quiet evening with my DH and most likely an earlier than usual turn in. Only 3 days left—sea day, Halifax, and final sea day!   Hoping for no fog and some sun tomorrow.
