In Luminae, we tend to tip everyone whether they've served us or not.

1--- We are not in Luminae

2--- As I understand, you hand each individual a tip whether they have served you or not ??

Hard to believe you tip everyone--and why would you if they have not served you ?

3--- Or most likely,  because you have Gratuities Included in your cruise package, theoretically you tip everyone.

.......Personally we always share with a table for six being our preferred size.

We like a table for 6 to meet different people, but in our experience we have found that with a table for 2 (at 5:45pm) we have a better chance to make it to the early shows. Have you found this to be the case also?

Your ideal evening is clearly different to ours. Most people who go to the early show have late dinner

We book for 6.30 every night and enjoy a leisurely dinner ending between 8.15 and 8.30 (Anytime dining actually allows 2 hours to dine). Then we make our way to the theatre for the 9.0pm show followed by a visit to the casino and Al Bacio - or vv.

We never have any problems getting a full table.

I guess so. At home we are easily finished with washing dishes by 6:30pm.🙂

Presumably at home you don’t share a table with 4 strangers 😄😂. We enjoy the wide ranging conversations that are a major part of our cruising experience.

How do you get a table for 2 reserved?  Can you do it in the cruise planner?

No. Once onboard we always go directly to the MDR and find a table for two in a location we like and request it for the entire cruise. We have always been accommodated.

" find a table for 2 "------ Excellent --we learned that " years " ago on the first night of a cruise.

After the :

" Where ya from ?  Gotta be real cold up there " ?

" How many cruises ya been on " ?

" Everyone speak French up where ya live " ?

Then during dinner the " gentleman " ( ? ) expressed his feelings about things that were not appropriate ( won't go into that ), and all of a sudden we didn't feel like desert and left.

Since then we request a table for 2 and 99% of the time enjoy chatting with folks nearby as the tables are very close together. We still keep in contact with a few couples.

LOL-- Come to think of it, I would have liked to sit at a table directly beside that " Old fart " with , etc etc. --- There I go again !!

Do you find on Celebrity (we've never been on) that one show time is better attended than the other?

Generally speaking I believe the second show is the more popular especially on port days. One sea days (especially on TA's) there seems to be more of a 50/50 split.

Just off Infinity. My TA had confirmed select dining for all 4 of our cabins. Once onboard, we were actually all assigned late dining. They were very accommodating and had no trouble seating any of us whenever we wanted to dine.

This should have been made as soon as your booking was made.  We book through a TA for this reason.  They can mark it right in the reservation.

When we booked our cruise, we downloaded the app and then made dinner reservations. Pretty easy to do. We'll check in at the MDR to confirm as soon as we board.

We book through the cruise planner and print out the first 2 days confirmations. Check in at the Select Dining Desk as soon as it opens which is immediately "sign in" for Life Boat Drills closes - X uses the same area for both.

Thank you. Have already printed out dinner confirmation times for the week. First time on Celebrity for us.

Our TA shows Open seating WL early.  Is that anytime or TD?  We really want early seating because we have 3 children with us and same wait staff every night due to dietary restrictions.

What would be the best way to accomplish this on Celebrity?  Appreciate your advise.  TIA

Hi there,

Firstly as others have said the M’D usually will try to accommodate exactly what you want even if it is not pre arranged. With three children I would imagine the restaurant would want your family of five on a six top on early seating…It clearly seems the obvious.

However, as you are presently on open (which I assume is select, I would assume WL is wait listed) I suggest you email special needs on Celebrity stating a member of your party has dietary issues and request that you are allocated to early seating to ensure you have the same wait staff each night.

Whilst special needs cannot change your seating they will forward your request to the ship. Take a copy of your email with you and reply if you get one. On boarding if you are still on select head to the M’D with your emails. If the M’D genuinely can’t swap you to early seating he can liaise with Select to arrange a regular table in Select at an early time.

What is the email address to use to request a dietary needs for a member of our family? We also need early dining.

TIA

This is confusing, as it says both Open seating & Early.😱

Early, is Traditional Dining, I believe 6 pm, but it’s a long time since we did Traditional.

Fill in a Special Needs form. You can get one from your Travel Agent.

I am Dairy Intolerant and do it just after I have booked. That way, the ship has chance to order the special milk that I use.

Isn’t there a special needs form in the App, or online?  TIA

I found the form online. Thank you

for that information.  We want TD, if possible, as it’s so much easier with a special diet to have the same waitstaff.

Which restaurant is TD on Celebrity Summit?  The earliest dining is 6pm?

Great…

Sometimes we can overthink issues that simply disappear once on board but we, like you, like to have as much sorted as possible before we board.

Sincere best wishes for a wonderful cruise!
