Alesund, Norway: My 7.5hrs Trolls Rd tour

Recommended Posts

I took this tour:

https://www.norwayexcursions.com/en/tour/alesund-from-fjords-to-trolls/

Much cheaper than the cruise line.

Beautiful views!

Pro tip: Add the lunch buffet. Only $11 more.

If you buy it there, it's about $45 :classic_ohmy:

I didn't book this tour but found the tour bus and they had empty seats. Paid cash (in local currency).

Asked about joining the buffet and the tour guide said she'll ask when they got to the buffet place.

It was 450 Nok.

Everything In Norway is EXPENSIVE!

Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback. I had already booked this tour with this company for our upcoming cruise in a few weeks. Decided to take a chance because they are half the price of what the cruise line is charging for the same tour. It’s good to hear that you had a good experience.

We took this same tour - and it was excellent, one of the highlights of our cruise.

They start just outside the port gate, just yards from your ship.

Yes, they accept walk-ups - but our coach was full, so do book to be certain.

On the coach, for best views sit on the same side as the door (not the driver's side)

Is May too early for this excursion.  I tried to book but it is not available until May 25th.

Trollstigen is just under 3000ft above sea-level.

We were there at the end of June, and saw vestiges of snow in sunless spots below us as well as above us, and it's a narrow switchback road, so yes - I guess that's why the excursion isn't offered until the end of May. 🙁
