In another thread, @grifdoglover has suggested Viking to me (thx!).

Thoughts, anyone?

Viking Ocean is very good. We enjoyed the ship design and the food and service was excellent.

There's no casino and no kids - a big plus for us.

One thing we didn't care for was the entertainment or lack thereof - this was a long cruise from Miami to South America, a leg from their World Cruise. They do have good speakers, but the music is almost totally classical and quite bland, imo.

The cabins are very nice as well. I'd give it shot if the itinerary is what you are looking for.

If you want to save on air fare, is one line that is being compared better than the other?  Lots of analysis on excursions, drinks, transfers, etc.  what about booking airfare including the air deviation options?

Thanks.

SS business class upgrade to Europe is around $2,000 USD for 2024 sailings, a very good value in my opinion. This is for flights from Toronto. We usually don't book air with the cruise line, but this was too good to pass.

That upgrade price is pretty appealing.

Thanks.  I like O's air pricing but when you add the dev fee, it hurts a bit.  Some of the lines don't charge that and you might even get a lower price by doing the deviation.  But since we rarely do the premium/luxury lines, love hearing what others have experienced.

Compare  what the airfare is doing it yourself  then see what it will be with Oceania including the deviation fee

I would  never just  take Oceania air  without  asking for the flights I want & paying the fee if they can  get it less than I pay with the airlines

Do your homework
