Colour Strip on Luggage Labels

I am surprised to see that the colour (color) strip on the luggage labels for our next cruise are bright orange. I would have expected that the Club Orange people to be assigned that colour. Anyone with any experience of this?

They used to use different colors to signify the ship, if I recall correctly. What ship are you on with orange tags?

Nieuw Statendam

That could be it. We're on the Nieuw Statendam on in December and we have orange tags. I don't recall having orange tags in the past, but then again this is our first time on the NS.

I'm pretty sure the color is for baggage handling. If you are in a busy turnaround port you can have several Holland America ships calling on a given day.

My 2 cents changing cabin class and decks..,

Rotterdam, July 15, out of Amsterdam.

Original cabin was Vista, Deck 5.  Goldish color tag.

Took the upgrade offer to Neptune, Deck 7.

Exact same color tag as before, but had yellow “Priority” printed on the luggage tag this time.

Hope this helps!

We also have a black & white printer so color doesn't show up.

I always find (or buy) a marker or highlighter and outline the B&W stripe (or strip) in the correct color. Any little visual cue is a good one.
