Norma also claimed to be ready for her closeup. Between that and "fasten your seatbelts" arguably the two most immortal lines ever spoken on celluloid.

But just to be clear (you left it ambiguous), "Fasten your seatbelts ..." was spoken by Bette Davis in "All About Eve". Also made into a musical (Applause), although I can't recommend it.

For @roscoe39 “We’re going to need a bigger boat” is up there too…

And that line is now on Broadway. There's a play about the making of "Jaws."

Darn that DH finished the sports section and has disappeared before I could start the name that quote game…and you are already having fun with it! Isn’t it fun to know that we’re thousands of miles apart and still enjoying the same thing?

I think they mean a dinner suit..........as my hero Norma Desmond declared  "tuxedos are for waiters"

Or as Maggie Smith said to Lord Crawley(her son) in Downtown Abbey when he appeared at dinner in a Tuxedo instead of Evening Dress((tails / white tie)... "I thought you were a waiter".

All about Eve.,one of my favourite screenplays of all time including one of  possibly  the best ad-libbed  lines ever in cinema..... and please don't compare it to the trash they produce today....and don't even start me on "Barbie"

Sorry… unfamiliar with that term…however if you

asked me what the proper form is to wearing what time of the day to wear diamonds I’m sure I cam oblige

Since you walk your own way around the Prom Deck, you can set the standard on diamond wearing times…🙃

I really am shocked. Claude Rains doesn’t appear, unless I missed him.

Well, here’s one: “It’s a little clash of temperament that’s going on in there—inevitably. One of them is half-mad, and the other, wholly unscrupulous.”

but it hasn't got "Oh, Jerry, don't let's ask for the moon. We have the stars." from Now, Voyager (Bette Davis & Paul Heindred), partly set on a cruise ship. I think that film sparked my fascination with cruising.

Ooops, of course it's there! Phew.
