MDR is open before your dining time

Hi everyone.

I was watching a youtube channel and heard the guy in the video saying that even if you have assigned dining time of 8:30 pm you can walk in before that time. let's say 10 or 20 mins before 8:30 PM and you can get in the MDr without problems. I thought it was closed and you were not able to get in until your selected time.

I guess if the previous diners have left and the dining room is reset they may let you in early. But if you chose 8:30 why you want to go early.  If you want flexibility change to Select ( anytime dining)

With set dining, I've always found the MDR door closed before the set time.

Was it an Edge Class ship? I think things are handled a little differently on them.

Yes, on Edge class ships there is no set dining.

Closed, locked, open, doesn't matter.

 

Absurdly rude behavior.  The staff has barely finished with first service, maybe taking a 10 minute breather to get ready for second service, and someone wants to get there "10 or 20 minutes early" and expect no problem?

 

You don't want to be seated at 8:30, book anytime.
