Quick question regarding the Captain's Reception at Top Sail at 10:45 am.  Since it's a late morning gathering am I correct in assuming that the dress code is casual (i.e., shorts and tops, long caftan-type cover-up etc.).  Thanks.

The invitation said smart casual.  I just wore a casual sundress.  Some people were more dressed up and looked really nice, others straggled in late looking less lovely.  I wasn’t embarrassed by what I wore, but I wouldn’t have wanted to be less dressy.  I think for a man, shorts and a collared shirt would be perfect.

Thanks.  We are 3 women traveling together so I'll be sure to let the other ladies know that we need to get "dressed up" somewhat for this gathering...which won't be a problem.  From what I'm seeing on a FB group I belong to the dress code on Meraviglia tends to be VERY casual and we tend to "dress up nicely" in the evening.  During the summer month sailings it looked like the mode of dress in the evening was shorts, t-shirt and flip flops and that is DEFINITELY not us!  We usually sail Celebrity and very rarely do a summer sailing (due to families, kids, etc.) but whenever we do embark on a summer sailing we've noticed even on Celebrity the dress code is very casual in the summer months.

PizzAdventure.   Mom and I saw someone eating pizza on the deck and went to the main buffet to find our own.  Main deck looked wild but fun, doing some kind of music involved bingo.  On our way there,  there were still plenty of loungers overlooking the Ocean on the mezzanine.   We took a few wrong turns on our way back.  The butlers will now deliver pizza to the YC deck, this was once a controversial topic, but it may be quicker to get your own.    The pizza was worth the journey.

I don’t think anything too serious.  Just a summer dress.   People have looked nice in the YC in the evenings.

Lovely, short and sweet Captain’s reception with Cruise Director Mathias Mcing and the senior officers.   Fun ice breaker with the ship’s dance instructors and beautiful live piano by a gentlemen from Ukraine.   Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦

Nice that the kitchen staff were recognized!  Haven't seen that done on any of our MSC YC sailings.  Very nice touch!

Gala night! For dinner I had the champagne risotto and the truffle filet.  My Mom had the blue cheese soufflé and the lobster.  Her soufflé was a little dry so she asked for a salad.   The winner of the night was the crepes Suzette.  I tried to wrestle my waiter who was trying to keep me from licking the sauce off the plate.

The show, Top Hits was SO. MUCH. BETTER. TONIGHT.   the singers are honestly pretty talented and you could see them so much better without plastic hair.  They all have pretty strong accents while singing but I have a ton of grace for them in that because I can only imagine how much I butchered Italian back in my performing days.

But can we just talk a little more about my girl.  She is honestly the most important employee on MSC.  There are other Captains, but seriously she is SO amazing.  Even if she’s in the background you don’t look at anyone else on stage.  I’ll keep coming back to the shows just to see her.  Enjoy the following montage of my stalker pics of her.

Finally, we stumbled upon a little dance party.    Lots of multigenerational fun, which is honestly MSC’s strong point.  Those Italians keep those kiddies up late!!  People were “Having the Time of Their Lives”.   The party was “Rolling”. Even the “Young Men” were dancing!
