Cruise Magazines?

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would throw this out there to see if anyone knows of any cruising magazines. I have searched the internet and have on come up with Cruise Travel. Didn't know if there were any others that I should look at. It will give me a little something to read to stay up on the latest cruising info and research for my next cruise. Thanks in advance for all your replies

I have subscribed to Cruise Travel for about 15 years now, I look forward to each issue.

Porthole is OK, but as the previous poster said it is full of Ads!

Another magazine that has some cruise info and is just a good magazine is Caribbean Travel and Life.Wonderful articles and pictures.

I have been a subsriber to Cruise Travel since the late 80's. It is ok but over the years has gone down in quality and information. They are not very objective and usually sugar coat everything.

The other magazine as mentioned above is Porthole. This magazine started out as a very good source of information when Douglas Ward was at the helm and now is nothing more than a magazine of ads. The current owner is Panoff Publishing and Bill Panoff was at one time a cruise director with Carnival and currently has the contract for Carnival for their printing needs for on board books. That alone should tell you a lot about the magazine. Information is one sided. Their readers poll is a bunch of garbage IMHO.

I came across this link to Best Price Cruises which is offering a free one year's subscription to "Cruise Travel" in return for filling out a survey. I don't know if there are any other catches other than giving away your name, home address and email address. This offer is for new subscribers so I don't qualify.

I receive Cruise Travel but I do not subscribe. I did subscribe a couple of years ago. Every few months they send me a notice that my subscription has expired and this is my last issue, but the magazine keeps coming for which I am grateful.

What I enjoy about the magazine is news about new ships or rennovated ships. I learn something every issue, but the RCCI Crown and Anchor magazine seems better. I understand, however, that Crown and Anchor's magazine is now Internet only, something I find unfortunate.

Agreed, what ticks me off is that they keep sending bills when I've paid for the next two years. I guess they hope some folks fall for that and pay again  ;)

That and I get renewal notices to renew for two to three more years and I still have two years left on my subscription.

I went out yesterday and got both cruise travel and porthole. I just signed up for the free cruise travel. It said that the first issue should be here in May I wonder if it will be the one I just gotten or the new one? Now if we could find a way to get porthole for free.

I received a copy of Deckchair in my christmas stocking - sure was nice to read on a cold winter's day. It is a new cruise magazine published in Canada. Not sure how widely its distributed. The web address is http://www.deckchair.ca/

Great. Just what I need. 2 more cruise publications in my mailbox on a regular basis. Thanks. I think. ;)

Seriously, I appreciate the links. I hadn't heard of either publication before. I've already signed up for a year subscription for both. :)
