B2B

Booked our first B2B cruise on Adventure. Was able to get the same room both weeks. A couple questions as I have never done this before.....

-Do you still get lunch at Chops when you get back on board?

-Approximately how long are you off the ship in between sailings?

-We are allowed 1 bottle of wine p/p per sailing, can we bring on 2 bottles p/p when we first board? Would Royal hold 1 of them for the 1st leg and then give us the 2nd bottle when week 2 starts?

Any other benefits doing a B2B??

Thanks

We have never had lunch in chaps..first few. Times we did b2b we had an ok lunch in main dining room..could times on oasis class had lunch in solarium cafe..now we just skip it ..nothing special at all..depending on where your port is you may be off the ship from 10 or 45 minutes..  you will meet all the other cruisers somewhere on the ship until all other people are off the ship. Then you will disembark and the authorities will clear the ship and back on you go. While at the meeting RC will give you your new sea pass cards. Carry your wine on and if anyone questions you just explain your b2b and they will let you take them

Since you asked how long you will be off the ship, you can leave the port if you want to.  Perhaps to buy two bottles of wine, perhaps to tour something.  If you plan on that, they will give you some cards or documents that will allow you to skip all but the security line.

Can't help with the lunch- we've not done it for a really long time.  Not because it was poor, but we just wanted to do something else.

We have done a b2b lunch but usually off to one side in the Mdr but it does often have steak or rib type cut offered. You have to have like 27 b2b, some number triggers a b2b lunch. Almost always. You will get a note where the b2b lunch will be held. Imo it's worth it. Nice lunch around noon ..later than the WJ.

Sometimes the b2b is very fast and sometimes not so fast. I've had a few times a computer was down and they couldnt load new manifest and other little things held us up. No set time to be walked back onboard.

How long you are off the ship between sailings is port and ship dependent. It's typical Royal Caribbean in that they have no standard process fleetwide, even in the same port.  Some issue the new cruise cards onboard, some do it in the terminal.  Some take the old cruise cards and some don't.

It's usually a group walk off and either a visual inspection of passports by a CBP officer or a walk through the facial recognition scanners, and then you can walk back aboard if you don't want to go ashore.  If you do go ashore you usually can't re-board until the new cruise guests have begun embarkation.  They tell you in the B2B letter you get.

In July I was pleasantly surprised on Voyager in Galveston when us B2B people didn't have to leave the ship at all.  A CBP officer came aboard and cleared us in the Star Lounge, and security had a station set up at the door for us to card off the previous cruise and then card in for the new cruise after we had our new cruise cards.  Once we carded aboard for the computer record, we were free to go and wait for everything to open.  It was very slick.

At San Pedro we met in an assigned place, walked to security to "bing" out with our old card which was collected and returned to us later.  Walked down the deck to "bing" back in with our new cards.  Only disappointment was that pools and hot tubs were not available for a long time.  We did tell our cabin attendant to not worry about a morning clean of our cabin as they had so many cabins to turn over (but of course he did get it done).  There was a B2B lunch in the MDR but not too terrific, buffet was not crowded if you went right away.

Double the fun.

Our TAD lunches have always been in the MDR.

We have brought bottles of wine for both legs on the first leg and never had to surrender the ones for the second leg. Have a copy of your SetSail pass in case you are questioned about the additional bottles.

You will receive a detailed TAD letter in your cabin a day or two prior to the end of the first leg. All info for your specific TAD will in that letter. Also remember a B2B cruise is two different cruises so nothing carries over to the second leg. Like any non refundable OBC. Use it all on your first leg or you will loose it.
