Ice Cream Sandwiches on the sundeck!

image.png.847881b2ca3f666b00963d589bd54b4c.png

I was so sad about these! Due to the texture, they're inedible for me. My husband thought the vanilla one was good and I thought they tasted ok. They just have a texture that really gets me. Same with fudge icing.

I really was hoping they just served a simple chocolate chip cookie/ice cream sandwich. But, it's Haven, so gotta be fancified!

The Haven restaurant is the main reason I plan to cruise in the Haven on the Joy May 2024.  I look forward to dining without inconveniences and checking out the Horizon Observation Lounge.  I experienced the Haven in 2019 for the first time on the Escape and can’t imagine cruising any other way😎

what did they do to the Ceaser salad?  It's not supposed to be swimming in dressing.  The Eggs Benedict with steak added made me laugh.  Looked like someone stuck a Mister Potato Head Nose on the plate. ( the steak was the nose, eggs were eyes, and potatoes were hair).  Nice to see the chefs

( or whoever plates the dish) with a sense of humor.  I am now warned to ask for my dishes in the Haven to be prepared with sauces on the side.  Too much sauce on the plates.

@9tee2Sea - try these!

My husband's protein breakfast plate - sauce on the side haha. You have to request the filet the day before.

Crab Cake Eggs Benedict - so freaking YUMMMM (special request, so talk with restaurant manager the night before if you want it)

Anyone ask for biscuits and gravey?

I tried the poached eggs meurette last cruise on Breakaway.  Never again.

I didn't ask for them in the Haven. I did find biscuits and gravy on the buffet when I wandered through. Sat down and had some. The gravy was very good (not great, but very good). The biscuit was...well the quality was worse than Cracker Barrel and Chik Fil A which have just mediocre biscuits. I didn't finish the biscuit.

Every cruise I've tried Poached Eggs Meurette and on the last two, they weren't really edible. It's unfortunate, because on three Getaway cruises it was one of my favorite breakfast dishes. The same thing has happened to the Shrimp Toast. I couldn't even finish it on Pr1ma and had to quickly go back to the room and brush my teeth to get rid of the comingling of Shrimp Toast and coffee haha

I'm jealous of your cruise! Y'all are going to have a great time!! I assume you'll be in the Haven?

My wife won't let me book any cruise on any line except the Haven.

I tried the biscuits and gravey in the buffet, wasn't too bad.

BTW, have  you tried fixing biscuits in an air fryer?  Excellent.  Nice and crusty.

NO! I'll have to try that out sometime. It's so tough to get biscuits in when a roast or something else is in the oven at a different temp. The air fryer could be the answer to that timing issue. I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it.

Understand the spouse part about booking Haven. I'm not exactly upset with it haha

Do the biscuits at 390 for 12 minutes, flip, another five minutes.

Be sure and use a liner.

Understand, I like my biscuits nice and crunchy.

We are new to the NCL , haven’t been on NCL since 1999, mostly Regent now…but with the new ship….will be on the Prima this spring in a Haven penthouse.

Couple of questions for the Haven Restaurant….. is the fresh OJ free or an extra charge? What about a side of lobster trail on a dish? Is there still an extra service change/tax always added to room service for the Haven order like on the rest of the ship or is it included.

And one off topic laundry question…will be on a back to back 7 days and 11 days. Will there be any laundry bag specials or is it only done as a piece by piece charge.

Thanks for the pictures and all the comments very helpful, and also for any answers?

OJ is included in your fare for breakfast, even with just the regular Free at Sea package in the Haven.

You can have all the lobster tail you want. It's totally included!

No room service fee IF you call your butler. If not, then room service will likely ask you to call your butler, but if room service (SWIFT) fulfills your order, then you will be charged.

There will be at least one laundry special on each cruise, providing you an opportunity to pay $29.99 for a full bag of laundry.

Thank you so much for your reply. Nice to know about the lobster and the room service. One more question…since we are not drinkers (alcohol and soda), I didn’t take the free at sea drink package for us. Seemed like a waste of $29 x 2 a day. Did do the rest of the FAS package though. Is the fresh OJ still no charge for the Haven breakfast?

I'm honestly not sure. I think they would probably still provide fresh OJ to you. They did provide it to me when I had no package and my husband had the soda package. That was in September, 2022 and there have been many changes since then. On subsequent cruises we both had the Free at Sea drink package, so I can't give you more updated information.

Crunchy but fluffy and melt in your mouth on the inside!
