We board the Koingsdam on November 4th in San Diego. We have CO and our boarding pass says "Priority Boarding Pass" but under time it says "To Be Assigned". Is this normal for CO priority?

if you have CO then you have priority.  Don’t worry about the time.  For everyone else;
 you printed it too early.  Reprint a few days before and your assigned time will be there. It will also be in the navigator app. It’s important because if there are lines waiting to get in and you don’t have the time available you will then go in behind everyone else that has a time

Actually this is correct, I found that out last year in Amsterdam. There was a seperate check in for 4 and 5 Star which we went to. Then was given a card with boarding group 12. I asked should we not be in an earlier group or priority and they told me No Only Neptune, Pinnacle Suites and Club Orange. So yes we get special check in but not boarding. So it ends up depending on when how early you get to the pier.

Thanks Lisa.  Adding to the confusion is that every port seems to do things differently.  On our recent Alaska cruise I indicated to the HAL employee at the waiting area to board that we had priority boarding as we were in a Neptune Suite.  He just smiled and directed to sit in the next available row of seats.  After about 20 mins or so there after another HAL rep mentioned how boarding was going to proceed with people sitting to one side boarding first, I asked another HAL rep whether or not we should be seated with the passengers in that group.  He looked at my boarding pass and confirmed yes, with a NS we get priority boarding.

You misunderstood. I asked why a passenger was looking at other passengers’ boarding passes, not what is needed to enter the terminal. But since you mentioned that, another cruise line with which I travel has us check in with our app, and alternatively allows us to download the boarding pass into our iPhone wallet (same as airlines). Does HAL do that as well or does HAL still require paper boarding passes?

He’s not a pax. He works at the port.

Do you have the passenger #s yet for the boarding of Eurodam on Oct 12th?

We are 4 Star - with a boarding time of 1:20.

Would prefer to board at 11 - but don't know if they'll allow us to board early.

Appreciate your input.

When you get to the port show your boarding pass with the 4 stars at the front gate.  You can go in at 11

Not typical and I do not have any information as to why.

We did have a situation today where the shore to ship's connection was being replaced on the NOORDAM.  We had to do manual check-in....a time consuming and very slow process!

A large crane took one of those big white dome things off of a top deck and replaced it.  It took over 2 hours before our computers were back online.

My only thought is that the EURODAM may be replacing something similar next week and they know that embarkation will be disrupted.  That is just my hunch.

Yes we didn’t scan disembarking the Noordam today. It was strictly manual. I was wondering why. I think you answered that. 👍
