Back in 2020 while sailing on the Magic, we were able to purchased unopened beer on embarkation day at the Red Frog Pub and take it back to the stateroom. Next summer we will be on the Legend on a British Isles cruise, do anyone know if we can do the same thing on the Legend?

That depends on your bartender. In theory, they are required to open it, but YMMV.

The exception would be if you purchased a bucket of beers.

That is something completely different. It only happened during happy hour the day you boarded and you could buy beer by the case to take back to your stateroom.

If you have cheers , they are required to open it .if you are buying a bucket of beers you can go were ever with it on board 😉

Thanks for the reply but this had nothing to do with cheers or buying buckets. For a period of about 2 hours you could purchase unopened beer at the Red Frog Pub to take back to your stateroom.

Really?  We haven't done carnival for several years, but usually do Royal or Celebrity...and we have no problem getting unopened beer on those ships to take back to our balcony [any bar too].  Enjoying a beer from our balcony is surely a joy while watching the seabirds fly along and flying fish scoot by [sometimes].  Don't understand the reasoning if Carnival doesn't allow this.  For us, we'd buy MORE beer...not less.  Oh well.

I remember back when the Red Frog Pub had buy one get one on embarkation day for 2 hours. My wife and I would each buy one and take one to the room. We would do it twice and have 4 in the fridge for later. The line would be out the door into the Promenade. They also had specials on the fish bowl drinks. This has gone away. Also, the Casino bar use to have $3 wine on port days for 2 hours (2 to 4) while most people were off the ship. Gone also.

Declansdad, this is off topic, but I am old and technically challenged, so please forgive. We are also on the Legend this summer and are flying from Florida. Which airport are you flying into?
Trying to arrange transportation to Dover…

Thanks!

You ARE off topic Ann but here goes! Fly into Heathrow. Stay a couple nights in London. Take the Southeastern train from St. Pancras station to Dover. Morning of the cruise is perfectly fine. Enjoy. Great cruise.

Trains from Heathrow Airport to London on Elizabeth line then on to Dover are really  EZ . we did the  the Carnival British isles cruise last year  from Dover.  Happy to answer questions. Allow yourself a few days in London. We were delayed flying out of US  by Storms in US..so we will need to make trip just to see London. lol
