Has anyone ever had a cabin below the main theatre on Emerald or similar?

We booked a guranteed outside and according to my booking on the Princess website, we're in category OF which is at the front of the ship directly underneath the main theatre.  I'm going to look into upgrading with my travel agent tonight, but was wondering if anyone here has experienced being underneath the theatre and could comment on the noise level as well as approximately how late the shows typically run.

When on the Golden (now retired from Princess), we were above the Princess Theater and yes, we were able to hear things from rehearsals and the shows.

You may want to upgrade.  The theater not only has rehearsals during the day but also shows until 10:30 or so.

Passenger cabins above, below, and across the corridor goes a long way to prevent entertainment and other noise from disturbing you

I would reconsider you cabin choice.  Plaza Deck/ocean view/far forward/under theater are some of the worst cabins.  As you move closer to the bow, the curvature of the ship DECREASES the inside of the cabin.

Having had the experience of staying in a lower deck forward cabin, the show noise was a non-issue. Hull noise from the waves hitting the ship kept us awake.

We have been above and it was not an experience I would consider again. The price was amazing, it was a last minute trip and overall we made the best of it but it was not just during showtimes it had impact, tender days they used it to gather, rehearsal time pretty much daily and far more events than we expected.

It was indeed price effective but not really relaxing.
