Specialty dining on Ascent

Just off Ascent this past Sunday and can report on 2 of them. We did dinners in Eden and Rooftop Grill. Was 3rd time doing Eden and it was as good as it was on Apex last year, with service being exceptional. We arrived 30 minutes early and they rushed to clear a window seat so we enjoyed watching the wake as night fell. Filet was perfect and DH said same for the lobster casserole. Rooftop Grill was really good except the steak, which I ordered med-rare, was closer to rare. It was still a great steak. For us, the corn was the star side dish and the pork sliders were the star starters. It was also perfect weather, so that added a lot to the experience. We got lucky and got pre-cruise discounts so would do again for those prices. Not sure about $75 PP that some are reporting as the new price for Eden.

Did you hear any feedback from people having dinner on the flying carpet? It's a bit pricey so I'm curious if it is worth the money.

We have done LeVoyage (once)  Eden (2x) Fine Cut(5x) and Roof Top Grill (5x).  For our Ascent Cruise we have LeVoyage booked as well as Roof Top.  We enjoy Fine Cut but after giving Eden 2 tries on 2 different ships we don’t feel it is worth the price.

Not for sure dinner was done on the magic carpet on our cruise because weather was windy and wet almost every evening.

Def will report back..but dining is subjective..  We would not order pork sliders..

We’re on the Ascent at the moment and the only speciality dining we have done so far is Eden. We didn’t enjoy it largely due to the fact it’s cavernous and there was no atmosphere. You can hear live music above you but can’t see a thing. The service was good, a great sommelier, and okay food. We have 4 other speciality dinings booked so I’m hoping it gets better.

We were on Ascent for a B2B in January.  We dined in Eden twice, Roof Top Grill Twice, Le Voyage once, and Fine Cut Steakhouse once.

Eden was wonderful, both times. We enjoyed the music from above.  Roof Top Grill was great, especially the ribeye.  Le Voyage was very good.  Fine Cut Steakhouse was OK.  But, we thought the steaks in Luminae were better.  😊

We were disappointed with the quality of steaks at Fine Cut.  In my opinion, it was not worth the extra charge.  Eden was outstanding in terms of food and service.  We also enjoyed the live music from above.

We also were disappointed in Fine Cut, had an awful dry aged ribeye(an additional $60)

definitely not worth it. Rooftop was very good, Raw on 5 was excellent...enjoyed the raw oysters!

Those were our only experiences with specialties on the Ascent recently

Rooftop Grill on Ascent recently was probably one of the best meals my Wife and I ever had at sea.  Our Waiter basically brought us most everything on the menu…Filet, perfectly cooked and tender, seafood skewers, sliders, at least 3 apps…we couldn’t eat nearly all of it, had to pass on deserts…
