adapter use with travel fan

I purchased an adapter with the intention of using the outlet under the bed for a travel fan. It just dawned on me that the fan would have to be dual powered. Is that true? I have previously just used an extension cord from the desk. Perhaps that makes more sense?

I don't think that I have ever seen a fan or any motor-driven device that was dual voltage. That is almost exclusively a function of purely *electronic* devices that use sensing circuits to adjust for the needed voltage.

I take that back (somewhat). CPAP devices use motors...most are dual voltage but the majority use power "bricks" that do the voltage adjustments.

I bring a battery operated fan and back up batteries no pluging in or having to charge the battery.  You can find them on Amazon.

I also saw one that uses a USB port.

Thank you everyone! The thought about the voltage came after I purchased the adapter!! I will bring the cord like I have always done in the past. Or perhaps a battery operated fan.

Thanks again!

I bring a small fan that says Li-ion battery fan that has a usb cord as well,  I plug the usb end into a plug that can plug into the wall socket.  Sorry, I don't know what that's called but it works fine.  Always need my fan.  The fan brand is OPOLAR and I bought it on Amazon a few years ago.
