CruiserBruce Posted April 27 #2 Share Posted April 27 Sounds like making some of the routes seasonal, to me.

Actually, some are already seasonal, just ending earlier than originally planned. Athens, Barcelona and Venice for example.
Rare taxatty Posted April 27 #4 Share Posted April 27 Another consequence of AA's inability to get the 787s it needs for long haul--partly its own fault, partly Boeing's. Retiring its A-330s and the Boeing 757s and 767s during COVID when other airlines kept them flying also didn't help. This will also delay AA's planned business seat upgrades.

Athens, Barcelona and Venice for example. So is this a function of demand or aircraft availability? As the planes don't simply disappear, are they being redeployed or going in for maintenance? Maybe a combination of both. I did see that AA is starting service from DFW to Brisbane this coming fall.

I hope that happens as I'm already booked on it. They've only changed the schedule once, so far.

The point is some planes aren't going to be arriving from Boeing when anticipated. Keep in mind airline schedules are developed well over a year in advance.
