Tender Process on the Escape

Recommended Posts

I am going on the Escape next week.  We have 1 tender port, Cannes.

I am hearing conflicting information on how the tender process works:  get tickets at onboard screens as soon as I board or get on the app the night before or meet in the theater and people with NCL tours are let off first and then others or line up the day before to get my ticket.  What the $%#%

Can someone with experience on the Escape tell me how it works?

I am Platinum, but am concerned about just leaving it to my Platinum status, as others have complained their priority tender did not work for them.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't think I have been on an NCL cruise where the Cruise Next desk wasn't open at embarkation, as they are there to make Behind the Scenes and Dinner with the Officer reservations, as well as answer other questions, such as your own.  I don't find the tendering process difficult or a mystery but every ship is a little different. There should be information in the Dailies also.

Enjoy your cruise.

It totally depends on your situation.

If  you are on an NCL shore excursion, you must follow the directions on your shore ex ticket.

If shore NCL shore excursion meeting point is on the ship, you must meet on the ship. And you must travel with your tour group to a tender.

If your NCL shore excursion meeting point is on shore then you have to find your way ashore. Tender "tickets" only allow you to join the back [long] line at a specific time. A shore ex ticket allows you to join the back of the [long] line at any time.

If CruiseNext is not providing escorted tendering, then your platinum status allows you to join the back of the [long] line at any time. Your "priority" is that you don't have to pull a tender ticket.

If CruiseNext is providing escorted tendering for platinum members, they will tell you where and when to be escorted to a tender line. It is a one-and-done escort. Leave on their schedule or  join the back of the [long] line when if better fits your schedule.

I have. Thought it was strange - and poor planning.

When I was on NCL last year in summer I asked at the shore excursions desk and as I was Platinum  I did NOT need a tender ticket but you normally just can skip the line by showing your ship's card with your Latitudes level.

I would just try that....

Happy Cruising!

That has worked for me on several ships.

When you say skip the line, you just walk past all the people up to the staff person scanning the cards for the tender?  Thanks.

No. You go to the end of the line - behind everyone else with priority but ahead of anyone with tender tickets that haven't been called yet.

Sometimes- depending in which way all is organised - there is only one looong line of people...in this case I asked the staff in charge where to go as I am platinum...in most cases they let me pass downstairs to the tenders immediately.

I remember only one time where there was a line for priority and a line for people with tender tickets.

When you board go to the CruiseNext desk and ask. Every ship is different.

Sailed the Escape a few weeks ago for the first time. I was able to get Tender #3 tickets (and I have zero status on NCL). After some running around as soon as we boarded, found out you made the tender reservations at the same place you made show reservations (the "Box Office"). Go straight there and make your tender reservation at the same time you do your shows. Oh, and the kicker: they ended up cancelling the tender port anyway, after we got a great number LOL!

where do you make dinner reservations?

Thank you, your answer was very helpful.

On embarkation day, go to Teppanyaki (Deck 6 midship) to make reservations. You can also try your app or touch screen kiosk near public elevators. If you need to change a reservation, you need to go to Teppanyaki.
