Shuttles at Naples and Dubrovnik

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Taking a cruise with NCL in Sept on the Viva. Wondering if NCL has any shuttles to the city centers of Naples and Dubrovnik. If so, where do they drop you off at. Thanks in advance

When we were in Dubrovnik prior to COVID, NCL provided shuttle service from the pier to the old city center.  It dropped us off just outside the main gate.  On the return it dropped us at the cruise terminal building, so there was a little walking involved.  I do not remember if there was a charge for the shuttle or if it was complementary.  We have been to Naples many times, both before and since the pandemic.  We never have looked for a shuttle into the city center, but did book a HOHO bus once.  Usually, though, we would catch a ferry to Capri or Sorrento.  The ferry terminal is next to the cruise terminal, so just a short walk.

We were on the Viva recently.  In Dubrovnik a shuttle was provided ($15 r/t I think?) and dropped off and picked up right in front of the gate to the old city - very convenient and right where you would want to be.  Our port stop was in Salerno, not Naples on the recent Viva Cruise.  I can say from previous cruises that, if you actually dock in Naples, you would not need any kind of shuttle.  You can walk directly into Naples from the pier and, if you want to go to Capri, the ferry is right next to the ship (so no need to pay NCL for an excursion to Capri).

Grab at least one meal at a small restaurant in Dubrovnik. Restaurants are all over the place, many many of them in the old city. If you have time spend 30 minutes in the afternoon at the Buža Bar

In Dubrovnik, taxis from the port to the old town gates are at a fixed price, if I remember correctly it is EUR 13 one way, for up to 4 persons. So often cheaper (and quicker) than the NCL shuttle, if more than one person.
