Royal Beach Club looks a lot like the Virgin beach club & pool on Bimini. It must be successful. We enjoyed it.

What's interesting about it is every cruise ship that makes a Nassau call will sail right by it.  This may cause some who find it appealing to book an RCI sailing

Too simplistic, like it or not, I'm where I belong as I have more X sailings booked than any other...No cruise line is perfect, they all have their pros and cons...Without us critics, cutbacks wouldn't have been reversed and there would be vaping in the casino...Cheers

I don’t think the vaping was ever going to stick..alas, we will never know..non smoking inside is one thing that really sets Celebrity apart from similar lines..

In the USA smoking rate is about 25% , in Canada it is 12%

I guess that why people still bring up smoking on the ships

In Canada we don’t see that much of it anymore

I don’t think it’s anywhere near 25% in the US..

this is the latest I found from the CDC

In 2021, nearly 12 of every 100 U.S. adults aged 18 years or older (11.5%) currently* smoked cigarettes. This means an estimated 28.3 million adults in the United States currently smoke cigarettes.2 More than 16 million Americans live with a smoking-related disease.1

Current smoking has declined from 20.9% (nearly 21 of every 100 adults) in 2005 to 11.5% (nearly 12 of every 100 adults) in 2021.1,2

"Celebrity Cruiser" is back! Good for Celebrity. I suggested to Laura when I first saw her on Equinox that someone to answer questions and complaints would be helpful.

Is this “celebrity cruiser” a Verified Account and Official Celebrity Rep? Based on previous posts, I don’t think so.

Do those numbers include marijuana?  Last I checked, smoking is smoking, right?

Your info could be right as the term "smoking" is a vague blanket term that is therefore ambiguous.  The CDC does NOT consider vaping smoking but does consider chewing tobacco, cigars (which are rarely inhaled), etc., smoking

Different animals altogether..do they make tobacco gummies?

We were talking about cruise ship smoking, is Mary Jane legal anywhere on the HIGH seas on a mainline cruise ship?

Let’s talk in circles some more.

That’s why they never bring on sniffing dogs?  Because no one does anything illegal on a cruise ship, right?

There is no better kind of smoking!  I've been to every X restaurant except for Lumnae or Le Voyage, I think the Rooftop Garden Grill has the best food on X

Let's Settle This: Which Region has the Best BBQ?

i admit that I didn't read all the posts, but the posts that I read mostly were complaints and addressed the same things.

All businesses as a whole changed their practices after Covid and that included all the cruise  lines.  On the same vein, all business try to revamp their policies/guidelines from time to time to attract new clients (passengers, doctors, nurses, sales reps etc.).  Some change is good and some change is not, but you can't please all the people all the time.I understand objections to food and I agree with the quaity of food but other than that, I really don't have any complaints about Celebrity. In terms of alcohol, businesses have to mainatin a profit margin and somehow find ways to cut costs.

I started cruising in 1982 as a teenager and although I am active and love to cruise, I know that a new generation of cruisers are coming up with different needs/wants. Elegant nights, dressing is not that important to them, wifi is very important, they need more activities, and they don't go to the solarium to sleep ( we were hushed once in the hot tub while in the solarium because some passengers were unable to sleep).

As for the requests for previous benefits to return, big businesses have a board and decisions are made and communicated through proper channels. I don't expect she would have answered other than vague acknowledgements..

I feel her answers to the questions are disgusting corporate spin.

She's the CEO, no? Are you really that surprised?

Ah, a little nuance there.

With her promotion, Celebrity no longer has a CEO.  She's the President, and works at the pleasure of the CEO back at RCG.  A President is more in charge of day to day operation of a business.  A CEO is responsible for more of the 'vision thing' in conjunction with the BOD.  That they've moved that function to the parent company isn't lost on some of us.

Sure, and does that difference change what I responded with? Anyone who works in the C-suite at any corporation is going to give a non-answer on any day that ends in "ay."

Thanks for clarifying. So we still do not have an official voice of Celebrity on Cruise Critic, which is a shame..

What it does is change what she's going to be doing for a living, and hence, what issues she's in a position to do anything about to begin with.  A CEO as was the case before would have had far more latitude.

Maybe there were multiple complaints about the same thing because, maybe, Celebrity isn’t doing anything about it.  It’s not an age thing.  Do you think a 25 year old cruiser wants the loungers removed from the balcony?

Celebrity can’t make 100% of pax happy but how about 80%?

I don’t complain about kids in the Solarium until they splash me and call me old.  I’ve complained about parents who seem to think it’s their private space.  I got shushed in the Persian Garden,  and I wasn’t shouting.
