I mentioned on another thread that our upcoming cruise on the Liberty would give us a few "firsts". Here are a few of ours:

  • First time with a balcony
  • Determined to be awarded our first "24 karat gold plastic ship on a stick"
  • First time using spa services on board
  • First time sneaking through a hole in the fence to lay on a beach (Costa Maya) :D

Anyone else????

We also are having our first balcony, and hoping to do the "hole-in-th-fence" excursion! Perhaps also try the reservation-only supper club! The first I would truly love to experience is winning in the casino! The ones on the ships haven't been too kind to me!:p Oh, and will be trying room service for the first time, to have that long awaited cup of coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise!:)

Oh! I forgot about the supper club. We hope to get reservations for Tuesday night for Harry's. That is my 40th birthday! I am sure that there will be many drinks involved that night!

Someone mentioned room service. We love to get late night PB&J sandwiches with chips and brownies. Definitely a vacation only treat at midnight.

Our upcoming cruise on the Liberty in March will have a few firsts for us as well.

Our first cabin on the Lido Deck.

Our first time in Panama, Costa Maya & Costa Rica making this our first cruise with no "repeat" ports.

Our first cruise with both daughters' boyfriends.

-first time eating in the dining room for breakfast, and maybe lunch.

-first time travelling with my friend's new boyfriend

-first time in all the ports we're visiting (GC, OR, Coz)

-first time cruising without taking everything but the kitchen sink (plan on packing WAY lighter than we did on our first cruise)

-first time cruising and feel like we *somewhat* know what we're doing, rather than (inspite of all of my research on CC) wandering around, overwhelmed

-first time on a Triumph class ship

Even with this being the 5th cruise there are still plenty of "firsts" for us:

** first cruise alone - just DH and me ;)

** it will be the first time that we have lunch in the dining room - we have done breakfast in the dining room on each of our previous cruises - but never tried a lunch.

** first time for room service - ever! Not sure why we have never gotten around to trying room service. Probably becuase we always were meeting those that we were travelling with, but this time I am determined to give it a try.

** first time that we will be hanging out at the martini bar. :D On the very last night of our Triumph cruise we got hooked on the appletinis. So - that is where I know we will be this time!

Fun thread - thanks for getting it started :p

No firsts for us but our son's twenty-three year old friend is coming with us and he has quite a few first.

Never flown before

Never seen a cruise ship before

Never been on a cruise ship before

Never left Michigan before

Never been in a foreign country before

Never seen an ocean

When we returned from our last cruise, he said he was going on the next one no matter what happened. When we ask him to join us, he didn't hesitate one minute. We ask if he would rather have a cheaper cabin, he said no, he wanted to experience the best all at once (Balcony cabins on the Lido Deck). This should be quite the experience for him. He's even going out and buying a suit that he's never had a need for before.
