jjk7320 Posted December 13, 2006 #52 Share Posted December 13, 2006 Crew members can really make the cruise. We have cruised carnival 14 times. some of the reason is because of the crew. We have several very close friends that are crew members. Now the bad part, not to be negative but some people should be very careful of the crew. Yes, the crew work very hard depending on the job. I can only speak for three jobs as our friends work as bartenders, two as bar waiters on the lido deck, and one in the calypso band. These people are NOT POOR. Believe me, they do very well. However, MANY play the pitty me card to passengers(who they call cones) and tell them they send all their money home to feed their children and sisters children and brothers children and so on. I am sure there are some that do just that but not all. I have seen people hand my friends HUGE TIPS at the end of the week thinking they have no money. My friend in the calypso band makes $1400 every other week with no bills to pay on the ship or at home. He stays with his brother back home when on vacation. His brother owns a Kentucky Fried Chicken!!!

gollareny Posted December 16, 2006 #56 Share Posted December 16, 2006 i love the crew at carnival, they are awesome. The Elation has such great people working on it. I was actually trying to get a hold of a worker on that boat. She was really sweet to me and my family and i wanted to send her something and keep in touch. She had given me her email, but i have misplaced it. Is there a way to get a hold of a crew member of that boat in any way, whether through email or letter? Thanks
BJs mom Posted December 16, 2006 #57 Share Posted December 16, 2006 Thank you to all the Carnival crew members, they are one of the reasons for all the repeat customers that love the Carnival experience. By the end of the trip you feel like they are part of your family. Happy holidays to all the great crews of Carnival no matter where they may be. hilltopfamily Posted December 17, 2006 #58 Share Posted December 17, 2006 We'll add our "thank you's" to the Carnival crew members. Our family has now been fortunate enough to have sailed on Carnival 3 times and each one has been a true pleasure. Our children's ages are such that they're always in 3 different kids clubs and (especially on the Conquest because of it's great sized kids areas) they've had such fun, fun times onboard. And the dining room staff on each cruise have been so friendly, yet professional and talented. We here on these message boards are quite fortunate to be able to go on cruises and one of the reasons our family speaks so highly about Carnival to everyone we know is because of the crew~~~they're always doing what they can to make sure we cruisers have an extraordinary vacation. THANK YOU!

PSRCPA Posted December 22, 2006 #65 Share Posted December 22, 2006 I have no other cruiseline to compare as we've ONLY sailed with Carnival ;) I have just reached the ripe young age of 50 and still believe in the "fun" ships of Carnival! We had a Deck Steward, Kisha, on the Imagination and 2 years later he recognized US on the Glory.....true statement! He worked the Lido during the day, called us by name, kept our bucket full of beer & ice and stopped for a minute of chit chat inquiring of our day when he could. At night when he serviced the main lounge we were sure to sit in his section :) Although Kisha is a staff member we will always hold dear.....we certainly met many staff members over the years and appreciate their hard work and dedication in making our vacation the best! JudyKa Posted December 23, 2006 #67 Share Posted December 23, 2006 I want to give a big thumbs up to all the crew on the new Fantasy sailing out of New Orleans. Sailed on it on 12/2/06 and LOVED our room steward and his assistant that worked on our stateroom, U97. Donald and his crew that worked our table #290 something in the Celebration dining room at the 8:00 sitting were fantastic! ......and the broadway type shows were fabulous....LOTS of wonderful talent in all of those young people! The lead singers were really good! We have sailed the Conquest and the Sensation before and enjoyed it; but felt like we were treated extra special this 12/2/06 sailing on the Fantasy. Is it just a Legend? Posted December 27, 2006 #70 Share Posted December 27, 2006 I just returned from a cruise on the Carnival Legend. Our waiter and assistant waiter were amazing. Thank you Negovan and Safet! PS - I would like to keep in contact with Safet. Does anyone know the best way to keep in contact with a crew member? There are sooo many others... they remembered MY name, but I cant remember theirs... I apologize. Hope to be on the Pride again soon!
