Eurodam "alternative" names

Is it carved in stone yet? Has steel been cut yet?

I'd vote for Edam over Eurodam/Dollardam/Yendam/Pesodam any day.

My first choice would have been Spaarndam.

Not sure anyone is particularly interested in our opinions. :P

Seattle certainly is not!;) You already know this, S7S, but this name came out as the winner of a "name that ship" contest for and by all HAL employees.

The odds of HAL's powers to be changing this into something more Holland America Line historical and traditional like Spaarndam, Leerdam, Edam, etc. are about the same as the L.A. Kings winning the Stanley Cup this year:eek:

I seriously doubt that the name "Eurodam" was written on more than one piece of paper in that so-called competition ... said piece of paper being monogramed with the initials SK. From what I was told by my contacts at HAL HQ, no one is really happy about the name choice.

Vic;

How about Scheveningendam? You win a "dam dollar" prize if you say it very fast three times without spitting or choking......:D

Karin

That's a deal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Want to join me on this John??

Although I still hoped for Spaarndam and the copy of Hans Brinkers Statue in the Atrium.

Whogivesadamifthisisarepeatthreaddam? It's still fun, and no big deal if it's been done before. Just don't read it again.

:)

Granted, it's fun. Kinda. Sorta.

It does cause a moment of pause for me, given what could have been.

How about the ms Idontgiveadam?

In keeping with HAL's history the following names have possibilities.

Medevacdam (Medical evacuation)

Heliomedevacdam (Helicopter medical evacuation)

Alphadam (Code: Alpha, Alpha, Alpha medical alert code)

Seems that HAL has the most experience in the cruise industry in these areas. So why not brag a little.:D

LOL. In that case, why not "Hockeydam"? They could keep on that route for a long time
