What's your favorite slot machine & why?

I am 8 days away from finally cruising again after over a year and have moved away from the Seminole Casinos so I am really ready for some slot action. It has been over 6 months since I have been in a casino and I want to know from all of my fellow cruise critics what is your favorite slot machine and what is the biggest jackpot you have won (and what it cost you!). I would also like to know if there are any new machines I need to give a try. I love the machines that offer bonus spins, games, etc. I try and stay .25 cents or less.

Looking forward to the old one arm bandit (well at least they used to be that way!)!

the ships' casinos are not so great. I guess maybe the wheel of fortune is ok as a quarter machine. We just play for fun on a ship. I actually enjoy some of their nickel and penny machines.

Land casinos are treated totally differently by us. We get many perks going to atlantic city. So my gambling dollars are reserved for there. On the ship, it's just pennies and nickels for fun. We don't even bother with their table games.

On every ccl cruise we have been on, I have been exceptionally lucky on each one. Don't ask me how, just pure luck. I always play the dollar slots and have always hit the jackpots on our ccl cruises. For instance on our last cruise on the Elation when it was out of Galveston, I hit 5 jackpots and went home with a little over 9,000.00 dollars. It was just one of those can't believe it happened to me ordeals. Hoping I will have some good luck on our next cruise on the Conquest in Feb. Good luck to you and happy sailing!!

I like the Garfield slot machine. On the Fantasy, I had good luck with that game, but on the Glory, I didn't. I like slots that have games like Garfield does. At the land based casinos, the Price is Right slots are my favorite by far.

Oh my goodness, I forgot about Jackpot Party! It was one of my favorite at the Seminole Casino in South Florida. I also remember a Double Diamond machine (5 cent) that had bonus spins on it and I used to love that machine and did quite well on it. Anyone know if they have those. I played Garfield on the Fantasy as well and had a blast!

I will have to look for Jackpot Party on the Celebration. Anyone know if they have them?

I'm not good at fast paced video games of any kind. I don't like complicated at all. I like the double diamond quarter machines. They let me play for hours.:) If there is a web site I can go to learn more complicated slots, please share.

There were Double Diamond slots on Elation.

I won $500 on my first cruise on a Red White & Blue quarter machine.

I'm going to be brave this time and actually try some blackjack. I've never played at a table with a dealer and strangers. I don't even know how to get started! :o

money to burn love it

Well, how much does it cost you to go to a hockey game? (including drinks and food consumed at the game) You gladly pay it, because that's what you enjoy doing. It's entertainment. Some of us are entertained by slot machines or other games. Sure, there are people who have a gambling problem and blow way more money than they can afford to "burn". But I think most of us who cruise fall into the "entertainment" category. And some of us even come out ahead while being entertained. WOOHOO!!

PS - My other addictions (cruising and horses, not necessarily in that order) cost me WAY more than a little fun with a slot machine does....even when I lose more at the slots than I had intended to feed them.

Actually "Money to Burn" is the name of a slot machine... I played that one and liked it, as long as it was good to me :)

LOL! Shows how much I know about slot machines. If hockeyluver was referring to the game, I wasted my time on the soap box, didn't I? Oops! Sorry about that. :o

I love Jackpot party. On one of my Carnival cruises (the pride i beleive it was) Myself and my friends girlfriend were in the casino while the boys took a nap, well i put 10 dollars in a machine and won 345 dollars. I cashed out and went to get ready for dinner and told the hubby i won. So on the way to dinner you had to pass the casino so i showed him which machine and i put in another 10 dollars and won 450 dollars that time. After cashing out and having dinner we went back to our cabin and spread the cash over the bed and took a picture because nobody would beleive we won on a ship. So we then went to the pursers desk and put half the money on our account.

I played at the tables for my very 1st on the Celebration in Sept. Blackjack, it was fun the other players and the dealer were great. I played the 1st night when it was $3 per hand.

Before the cruise I came here on CC and asked some questions. I was given some good links to practice games and a chart to help you when and how to bet.

So I had a good time for a few hours on the ship and only lost $2.75. Not bad for a beginner.

I havent cruised in almost 2 years and Im leaving in 8 days and I am SOOOOO looking forward to the casino. It's part of the reason I cruise :)

I always seem to have luck on the $1.00 Wheel of Fortune - Last cruise I won $800.00 playing the wheel.(I put in a $20.00).

I also LOVE a particular quarter slot and for the life of me I am having a brain freeze and can not remember the name of it. It has a bonus game in it (Love the bonus games) and it's an older game- Just a three reeler and it "moo's" like a cow/bull and if you get three bulls lined up then you get anywhere from 1-10 extra spins. I ALWAYS look for it when I first walk into the casino.

Garfield didn't like me at all my last cruise but he loved eating my money. Haha.

Anything that has possibility for bonus spins I like. Ohh , now I'm too excited to sleep. Guess I'll go play some online games (for fun-not money)

Any slot that is NOT Wheel of Fortune. Those machines are so loud and obnoxious I want to rip them out and toss them overboard!!!

I guess you won't be sitting next to me then huh? :p

I agree they ARE loud but have to admit I love hearing the Wheel .....Of.....Fortune..... and then the tick tick tick of the wheel spinning on the bonus spin.

Double Diamonds

According to my observations and all the scuttlebutt I've heard, it tends to have a lot of smaller payouts.

I'm not expecting to hit a big jackpot and I usually want $5 to last about 30 minutes by which point I'm bored. I can frequently depend on Double Diamonds to do that and I've even managed to walk away up a buck or two.

As you can see, I'm not a big gambler and everyone at work knows that when I return from our yearly pilgrimage to Vegas and say I won or lost a "coupla hundred" that I'm referring to cents.

DF and DM like 'em all but they own shares in International Gaming Technology.
