Thanks for the insight.

 

I know this is probably a long shot, but were you guys stationary all the time? Do you know if they dropped anchor or were they holding station with the thrusters???

 

We were in bed (of course) when a loud noise and rumble woke me up. I thought we hit something, as a matter of fact, it must have been the anchor. I think that was around 0538 or 0548. I got up and told DH I was going on deck to see if I could figure out anything because we couldn't see off the rail of the balcony as texomakat said.

 

Now, I am just as addicted as everyone else, I guess, since I am sitting here watching that webcam and sure wish someone would post to let us know what is happening on that ship. I did post from the BB as soon as I was able to log on, yesterday since I could feel everyone's pain.

I have a friend down there who is going to fix the web cam for us on the sub, as soon as he can. I usually fuss at him for pointing it down, so we can't see the ships.:)

 

He told me that the other ship is there. There is also all kinds of cargo ships wanting to get in.

What is the site for the web cam to see the Ecstasy?

 

 

www.galveston.com is the only one I know of since it's the port cam. If the Ecstasy made it in, it will be behind the Conquest so we won't be able to see it. I bet it's in international waters, and the casino is open. Carnival won't repeat that mistake of anchoring when they could be making a lot more money with shops and casinos open. I bet they learned their mistake with us, yesterday having to anchor in the channel a few miles out.

DW talked to Carnival by phone a little before 11 (CST). We are booked on the Ecstasy to leave today, but she can't get into port. Carnival said that Conquest may not be able to leave untill tomorrow evening, and that both of this weeks cruises, Conquest and Ecstasy, will be dropped as "no goes"!! But then others at the same Carnival number earlier today have told us that Conquest had already left (not true) and the both had already been dropped (also not yet true). Forcast does seem to say that the fog may last into tomorrow. So we sit waiting for our ship to come in!

I am so sorry for your wait. Those people at Carnival!!:eek: I wonder sometimes if they are aware they are even talking about ships.:)

Im so sorry about that! Looks like its going to be a cruise to nowhere.

So if they are no goes, does that mean unless you have insurance you lose your money?

 

 

It will depend on how Carnival does things. They might get a discount on a future cruise, or a full refund, but I have a feeling these ships will leave, it will just be a shorter cruise than expected. They can't sit there all week, and where would they take it?
