I have a dumb question!! Does anyone know if there's an electrical outlet in the bathroom? I bought nightlight/air fresheners (with an extra outlet) for each of our cabins and wanted to make sure I can use them. For some reason, I thought I remembered that I couldn't plug them in on Explorer; but I don't remember why. Maybe something about the polarized plug and not being enough room. They might have been a different kind and for some reason didn't fit. Who knows! Any help for my obcessing would be great! :D

Don't know if this was answered or not. There are two "problems" with the outlet in the bathroom.

1) It only works when the light is on

2) It is low voltage - only good for shavers.

LOL, I was in shock, let me tell ya! We don't have to pay for a thing, thankfully, cause it's the only way we could afford to go, lol. Actually there should be quite a few people that won from around the country, they have their own spot in the dining room and everything... Trying to see if anyone else is going on that cruise...

Welcome to the RCCL family. We are only 2 shy for our Meet & Mingle get together. We currently have 23 signed up, but need 25 to make it an official gathering.

Looking forward to a wonderful cruise on the Liberty and meeting other cruisers. Go to the Roll Call for Members to chat with our group and sign up with the M & M for our 5/31/08 cruise. :)

demodawn - so excited you got a great deal!

boxer mommy - thanks! We'll send him. Still makes me nervous however, as when we sailed on grandeur in december of 06 there were NO kids. Its was horrible for him. DS still had a nice time, but would have been much more fun with other kids. Maybe going out of NO isnt the best for families.

Husbands really DO come in handy sometimes, lol.

It was your review that got me reading this message board and now I'm hooked!!!

Oh dear god no !!! :p

LOL I have a feeling that somehow this message board would have crept up upon you sometime or another. But I thank you very much for the very kind words :)

I hope you have a wonderful cruise!!

The smoke was only bad in the lounges where they allowed smoking, and in the casino. But on the formal nights they didn't allow smoking in the casino at all. It smelled much better in there, but you could still smell the residual smoke. But it was much more tolerable.

I'm not allergic to the smoke, but it makes my tummy sick to smell it too much. Hopefully the smoke won't be an issue for you and your cruise :)

We won a Disney cruise once. It was awesome!

I am a little worried about all the smokiness I am reading about since I am very allergic.

I am very allergic too. Places to avoid:

  • The smoking side of the Schooner Bar. (Sometimes the drift over is very bad even on the non-smoking side!) Which really is a bummer, because we love the trivia.
  • BOLERO'S! The bar side of Bolero's is HORRIBLY SMOKY! The "non smoking" side is across the staircase, but it's kind of boring over there. The band, dance floor, and bar are all on the smoking side and it is REALLY bad. They should make it the opposite...if people want to smoke they can step to the other side of the bar and then come back. So while I would LOVE to hang at Bolero's, do some Spanish dancing with my Spanish DH, and drink Mojito's, I have to pass on that bar. :(
  • The Casino.
  • The Sports Bar.
  • The Pub.

Those are the worst. If you stay clear of those areas, you can do pretty good! It's just a bummer when you can't experience all of what the cruise ship offers because of it. But...whatever. That's life I guess. lol

I was laying in bed last night and thought of something I don't remember seeing...

What time are the pools/hot tubs open until at night? Thanks!

Hi Nikki! :)

The pools and hot tubs are open 24 hours a day. The only time they are closed is when they are being drained & cleaned. :) And even then, it's usually only one at a time.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick on your vacation!!!

Hey, I'm a boxer mommy too!! lol

Nikki...how many boxers do you have? My fawn, Hannah, just turned eight years old on February 28th. We lost our brindle, Nikko, last summer to cancer. He was only five years old.

Fawn? Brindle? I am obviously behind on my dog terminology. :p Sorry to hear about that loss though...that is sad. :(

I am still waiting to hear from anyone who recently got off Liberty to see if they still have the 80's Dance Party in Studio B!

We have 1 brindle girl, Angel. I'd love to get a fawn male, but I'm not sure our little house could handle 2 boxers! lol I'm sorry for your loss!

Someone mentioned that certain Promenade restaurants are included in the price of the cruise? Does anyone know if that is true? I thought that they were all extra charges?

The cafe promenade goodies are no charge...There is a Ben & Jerry's store which there is a charge for along with the specialty coffees...

Jen: Can't wait to see pics of the real beanlette! Later, Jill:cool:

I know on our last explorer cruise they banned all smoking on the promenade, which was a nice change. Did they do that on all the ships? I read they start the new policy as of Jan 1. I know the explorer was much less smokey in Feb than Nov when we were on. Hope that is good news for some!

Going on the Liberty in August can't wait!!! We are flying into FLL so I was wondering how does the car rental work is there a place at the pier to return the car? I was going to do private transfers but all these good deals at Dollar might be the better way to go! Also where do you sign up for Chops and Portofinos and if we don't get on until 1:00/2:00 pm will we still be able to get reservations?

Thanks,

Kim

We are looking at excursions on Labadee, and my kids want to do the water park. In addition, we thought it might be fun for them to participate in the beach games, etc. offered by Oceans Adventure. Does anyone know when the Ocean Adventures program is offered on Labadee? Do you need to check your kids into that one on the boat, or can you meet up with them on the beach? We thought it would be fun for the kids to go to the water park first. Also, with the RC excursions on labadee, there is a seperate excursion listed just for the water slide. Is this a different water slide or the one that is part of the water park adventure. My kids love to be busy, busy... just hanging out on a beach is not for them, and they can't zip line, etc due to height and age.

The car can be a hassle but we think it is worth it. We have done it 2 differant ways on time return the car to a place next door to the hotel and took a taxi to the port. Last 2 times got the car at Fll drove to Mia and left the car and took their shuttle to the port, then we came back ( had a 7:30p flight) took the shuttle to Mia and then used it for the day and then returned it to Fll. Using the taxi was our first cruise and probably wont do that again as its just more money though I think it was only $20. The freedom to come and go as we want and to go to south beach or wherever and of course walmart for my diet coke. Transfers from the ship are also a pain as you need to wait until the bus fills up before it goes and we sat there over 1 hour, then we had a 5 hour wait at the airport. Wont do that again as its much nicer to go out to eat or sit on the beach for the day is nice. We love to do the water taxi in Fll for the day. Hope this helps. I would only rent a car if you are coming in the day before.
