Oh to win a cruise! How wonderful! Have a great time on the Liberty and be sure to report back. We cant wait to sail her in November.

LOL, I was in shock, let me tell ya! We don't have to pay for a thing, thankfully, cause it's the only way we could afford to go, lol. Actually there should be quite a few people that won from around the country, they have their own spot in the dining room and everything... Trying to see if anyone else is going on that cruise...

We are flying on Delta from Albany for only $238 a person, including taxes.

Renting a car from Dollar. Input the code "KISS" and it brings the price down to $19 ($29 with taxes) a day!

Wow, great!!! Thank you for the info!

I'm wondering if any of you that have sailed on Liberty during spring break could tell me how long the lines really are. The only other cruise we have been on was Radiance of the Seas and it was after Thanksgiving and not very crowded. We only saw a hand full of kids the whole time.

The more I have been reading the more I am getting worried. We will be taking the kids on this cruise for spring break so I want them to have other kids to meet and socialize with, but I'm worried we will be spending so much time waiting in lines for everything.

On the Radiance I don't remember ever having to wait in a line.

Will we be disappointed with this cruise? I'm not worried about the kids on the ship. I love kids and it wouldn't bother me if the whole ship was full of just kids, it is just the long wait to do things that has me worried.

Thanks!

Hey everyone just found this thread, i love the explorer thread, right Christie!!! We are on the Oct 25 and we did have a change in ports 3 days in a row now, but to us thats not much as we just finished the 12 day explorer and we did 7 ports in a row!

In San Juan walk over to the other pier if you want cheap booze at least 1/2 price of the states.

I was on the Liberty OTS on the Atlantis Cruise in January. It was my first cruise ever and I was blown away. It is a beautiful ship and the crew is extremely friendly and helpful.

Stateroom- We had an oceanview, 8514. The closet was larger than I had imagined, lots of storage, shelves, safe,- plus there is under the bed storage. The bed was very comfortable. I slept well (probably in part due to the drinks in the Casino Bar. Edzel is a great bartender.) I remember the outlet in the bathroom, I never used it. I brought a small powerstrip and used it at the desk for camera batteries, Blackberry (alarm clock only, no reception at sea) and a small nightlight. I thought our room was plenty big enough. I did hear the Captain’s daily announcements. I enjoyed hearing them, sorry that others could not.

Gym- I remember a lot of cardio equipment, but I only went once.

RCCL Entertainment- My friends dragged me to the Ice Show and I really enjoyed it. I also saw three production shows. My favorite was the third one, with the acrobats.

Photographers- We had some great pics taken, our group bought a lot of them.

Food- I mostly ate in the Dining Room. We had open seating so there were no times. I thought the waiters were very good, except the bar waiters. It was hard to get their attention. The food was good and the menu changed every night. I would try the specialty restaurants next time. I was not a fan of Windjammers, mostly because I do not like buffets. However, the Jade was good. I never went to the midnight buffet. The brunch in the Dining Room was good, even though it was buffet style. If you don’t mind buffet service, I’m sure you’ll enjoy all of the food. I loved the pizza, mostly had it at lunch and after the above mentioned bar adventures. I also like Café Promenade. The little sandwiches were tasty and I had my morning latte there. I never tried room service.

One of my favorite activities during the days at sea was just walking around the ship. I was just amazed at the size of it. In Grand Turk we were docked next to a Holland America Ship- Liberty OTS is so much bigger. The Royal Promenade was definitely a favorite place to stroll. The shopping looked decent, but I did not buy that much.

We tendered in Labadee, in the other two ports we were docked. Labadee was fun, did the Zip Line. I would recommend that you avoid the Haitian Market if your cruise stops here. The vendors are really pushy, I had to get away from them and I am not usually bothered that way.

I did not have to wait very long for the Flowrider. It also did not take long for me to fall. The wait might be different on a regular cruise; there were no children on this one. I imagine that children would have fun in the water park. I enjoyed the hot tubs that are suspended over the side and I liked the pool- though only went in a few times. It was a little cold.

The internet service is very slow. I used the RC Online room. I was frustrated with it. I would not use it again unless they made major improvements.

I was part of a group of 11. I found it difficult to meet up sometimes. The shows fill up quickly and if you have to wait for your party to assemble, you get less than desirable seats. Next time I think the group should set some ground rules about wait times and places to meet. I wish there was some way to use cell phones on board, but I would not want to have my personal phone- don’t need the work calls.

All in all, it was a fantastic trip. I am already signed up for another cruise in Jan 09 on Freedom OTS. I hope you have a great time.

Karaoke is held nightly in the "On Air Club". It is free to participate, they show your performance on the screens as it is happening... it's always a good time. In the rear of the room, there are about 3 recording booths. I think that there is a fee to use them. (Anyone know for sure... we didn't use them).

Hi there! I just returned from LOS on Saturday and it was our spring break. There were a ton of kids/teenagers on this cruise. Your kids won't have any problems making friends or finding things to do. We took my step-son who is 15 and he had a great time!

Debbie...unfortunately for me, I came down with a bad case of the flu on Day 2 and stayed locked up in my cabin for three straight days. I battled a high fever and sore throat, and wasn't able to eat anything. I think I am the only person I know that goes a cruise, get sick, and manage to lose 6 lbs! Sorry, didn't take many photos either. :(

I'm so sorry to hear you were sick. And to loose 6 lbs while on a cruise is unheard of. I'm hoping your over it and your back to normal.

What a bummer!

About teenagers - Im nervous too. We are bringing DS (15) and want to make sure he will have someone to hang around with!

Definitely make sure that he goes to the teen activities/clubs that are on board. He will meet kids in his age group and will have plenty of activities to keep himself busy. We never saw my step-son, only at dinner. On the last day of the cruise, he asked if he could skip dinner with us and hang out with his friends instead. This was a good sign for us!! :D

Ok couple of questions. We sailed Freedom, but we didn't take our kids. Soon we will be on Liberty with our kids......boys ages 10 and 8. During sea days what is there for them to do if I need some alone time???? Fun activiites with AO or not for that age. They are dying to know.

I think I heard it mentioned here already about how crazy teh Windjammer gets. My DH and I could never find a table on Freedom....we had to sit with other people all the time. Obviously going with the kids we want to be together...suggestions???

What do you reccomend for Labadee for my children's ages???

Was it easy to find chairs for adults in the H2O zone???

Thanks

There are plenty of activities geared for your sons' ages. I toured all of the Adventure Ocean kids' areas, and they are REALLY cool places to hang out. During the hours that AO is open, there will be a constant schedule of activities to keep them occupied. :)
