B2B Cruises

Recommended Posts

Steve, the link that petesweet gave is full of information.

I know there are many unkind posts on your other thread and I'm sorry about that. I don't know why some posters feel the need to attack others and to question there motives.

I for one hope you enjoy your b2b and meet some amazing cruisers to hangout with. Maybe in the future you and your wife can do a b2b as diamond members. ;) :D

Thanks so much for your kind words. Yes in the other post some poeple got out out of hand. That's why I chose to defuse the situation right away.

Steve

Can anyone give their recent actual experiences on the Majesty for a b2b? It sounds so different for all of the ships. We sail in Oct.

Great idea. I would also be interesting in hearing from anyone who did a B2B on Sovereign. We will be going in 2 weeks.

We did a B2B on Majesty in January and will do another next week. We were and are in the same room for both legs. On the last day of the first leg, we wreceived instructions for the next day and new Seapass cards. We met at the library and watched everyone else leave the ship. After that, we were escorted off the ship, quickly went through customs, waited for about 10 minutes while they cleared the ship and got back on board. It was real quick.

Any other questions?

Did they provide a special brunch or lunch like other posters have said about other ships?

We just got off the Explorer last month after the 5 day Bermuda cruise. We boarded about 12:30, had lunch in the WJ, put our carryon in the room after 1:00 and went down to the dining room to check out our table and there were several tables of people having lunch. I thought it was odd because I knew that they didn't serve lunch the 1st day but I thought that maybe they were with a group that just "booked" the dining room but now I am wondering if they were B2B people having lunch. In Bayonne, there is really nowhere to get off the ship so I bet they were doing the B2B.

Steve: It's your life and your marriage and your business, do whatever you want. One of the reasons that we just did the 5 day in a JS was because that made us Platinum and now we will be Diamond after our next 7 day and 12 day, both in a JS, so we all do what we can to make that next step even though people say we are crazy.

We are doing a B2B (Australia - Rhapsody) and I noticed on my online cruises page that my 2 reservations are noted as linked. I went thru a travel agent. Will this be recognized as a B2B, since I didn't go thru the B2B desk of RCCL?

Thanks for your help.

When your TA booked your b2b, she had to go through the b2b desk at RCI.........hence, the reason that they are linked.

If you try to put both reservations into your My Cruises page.......only one will be accepted and not both.

Are you referring to the My cruises page on Rccl.com? You never mentioned which online page you were referring to and it sounds like you may be referring to something different because as cruisinfever said, I haven't heard of anyone who can pull both legs of a B2B up on My cruises, myself included.

When I log onto 'my cruises' it shows both res. #'s. When I click on the res.#'s, it opens the page with all of the info. (booking dashboard page) and the different file folders across the top. It indicates it is linked to the other reservation #. I just want to make sure the cruises are listed as B2B cruises with RCCL so we don't have any confusion when we get back from the 1st cruise.

Boy, then you really are lucky.:)

FYI........both cruises will be handled separately when you board. After the first cruise is completed your SeaPass account is settled and a new account for the second cruise will be established as you will receive new SeaPasses and new folio numbers.

You will get all the necessary information and instructions for the second cruise in your cabin.......and they normally deliver this the 2nd to last night before the end of your first cruise.

Enjoy.................b2bs are the best.

Thanks to all of you for all the information.

I hope it's luck. I live by Murphy's Law. I have learned to roll with the tide over the years and have fun. I also have to laugh at some of things gone wrong in the past. We have booked a corner aft balcony and fully expect to be bumped down to deck 2 by the time we board.:) Then taken off the ship in Sydney and not allowed to reboard because of lost paperwork or something. No matter what happens I will have a good time because I'm lucky to be able to go on an adventure like this with my 2 sisters.

Both my cruises show up, but they are not linked as they are separate booking numbers. Should they be? I do not want them to be treated as one cruise for the point value.

You do want both cruises linked as B2B or else you'll have to pack everything up and get off the ship and go through the entire boarding process again. They will still be looked at as 2 separate voyages for point value.

Nope, sorry :( There was only one other couple on our cruise that did the B2B so maybe they figured that was not enough folks to worry about. We walked around a little on the ship and then went to the gym and worked off the big breakfast!

Were they booked as a b2b or independently...............you booked the first cruise and then days later decided to do the following cruise?

Edit: I see this question has been already answered.

Terri-There hasnt been any lunches on the BtoB Mariner trips for us. It may depend on the number of people staying on or other things. We will be on with you

Here's another variant of how the website messes up B2B's. I had an existing cruise. The website had no problems with this cruise. I later added a cruise to the end of the first cruise, using the B2B desk to link them properly. As I expected from reading the boards, I could not add the second cruise to My Cruises. I was able to use the backdoor (thanks to CC) to complete the Set Sail info for the second cruise. Here's the thing that surprised me - I can no longer access the first part of the B2B on the website. It shows up in my list of reservations, but when I click on it, I get the error: "We are unable to retrieve your reservation. Please contact customer service".

If it's any consolation, that problem existed before the website "upgrade."

I have a B2B coming up that's booked with 2 different TAs. I had booked the second leg directly with RCI and then transferred it, at which time they told me that they couldn't link the reservations as B2B. So we'll see what happens - last time on Monarch they didn't link my B2B reservation that was made with the same TA, but I just left my stuff in the cabin & disembarked, then went home to see the dogs and reboarded later. In San Pedro, at least for Monarch, you have to leave, then check in and wait for boarding to commence before you can reboard.
