IWORK2CRUISE Posted August 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2008 While I have not actually sailed on the Star I have never paid for show on any ship.
cantwaitt Posted August 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2008 So far, there is no charge for any shows. I give it two years, max.
mommacl Posted August 16, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted August 16, 2008 I didn't think so, but I was reading a thread where this poster was going on & on about being charged for everything and he mentioned the shows.
Wylie Coyote Posted August 16, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2008 NCL site still claims that onboard entertainment (except casinos) are included in the fare. :D Here is what it states: What does my cruise fare include? Your cruise fare entitles you to accommodations, meals and entertainment aboard ship. Certain specialty restaurants are available with either nominal cover charges or fixed price menus and à la carte pricing in addition to the standard dining program. Items of a personal nature are not included, such as alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, spa treatments, indoor pool relaxation areas, certain specialty exercise classes, laundry, photographs, casino, ship-to-shore phone, email, Internet, fax and Shore Excursions (including all Dive In" programs). Government taxes and fees are also not included. So, there should not be a charge for shows.

Toyz711 Posted August 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2008 one of the ships...i think it was doing hawaii....had the "tony and tina wedding" show. it wasn't done as a showroom show, it was a special production with a fee...an audience involvement with dinner? if there is a special guest performer...like wayne newton or such...they will have a fee. but the normal NCL shows in the showroom, no charges

crew mom Posted August 16, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 16, 2008 Entertainment in the theater is free unless it is a headliner which does not happen very often anymore. Sometimes on a charter cruise but not often. DS worked with some big names on the Rosie Family cruises but even then the shows were free. So go and enjoy the shows! Charo knocked my socks off with her acoutic guitar, for example. No charge to see her.
Bennett'sCruise Posted August 16, 2008 #13 Share Posted August 16, 2008 No charge for shows .. I'm not sure how this kind of thing gets started. BTW: The *Tony & Tina Wedding* type of thing is done on lots of different cruiselines ... not just NCL. It's usually accompanied with dinner, which is a special fee. vette Posted August 16, 2008 #15 Share Posted August 16, 2008 We saw Tina and Tony's Wedding on the Pride of America last fall. It was a very fun, interactive show. I think it cost $20 or $25 dollars. Vette
Administrators Rare CC Help Michell Posted August 16, 2008 Administrators #16 Share Posted August 16, 2008 Normal entertainment shows are not an extra cost, but an extra charge for things like Tony & Tina's Wedding, or a murdery mystery dinner, is customary onboard ships for many lines. Friends of ours did the murder mystery dinner thing on RCI a few months ago, and it had a surcharge (they said it was great, and worth the money, by the way). The OP should expect there to be options for onboard entertainment available at no charge, and in addition that possibly there will be 1-2 OPTIONAL evening activities which have a surcharge. Just inform yourself of which is which and you should be fine.
