That's awesome that you could snag the deal as well! I didn't price other dates, so had no idea if it was valid on other sailings. It has to be a glitch- there is no way the solo price can be less than double occupancy price otherwise. Yes it's still a chunk of change, but free laundry, free internet, breakfast in Sabatini's, free in cabin mini bar, etc.. helps justify the splurge. ;)

Now, how to break it to S/O who doesn't like warm climates- the whole reason I am solo for this one!

If s/o decides to go book 2 separate cabins as it comes out cheaper than booking one cabin for the both of you. You'll have an extra bathroom this way and extra closet space too. And you'll get more Captain's Circle credits (3 for each of you).

It's really wild that solo is priced less than dbl occ.

 

We both snore, so separate cabins is the way to go! But, I doubt he will come, notice 2 of the 3 cruises in my signature went north, those were the ones we did together.

Norwegian Fjiords will be our next "together" cruise- someday.

I recently booked my one-way airfare from BCN-JFK through Choice-Air and it's less than 90 days out. Theyapparently have special arrangements with the airlines and you get one-way fares at a fraction of the cost the airline charges. My airfare came to $630. flying AA non-stop. If you go to AA's website the same one-way fare is over $2,000.

I wondered about that myself; I've read on other threads that the CC board policy "forbids" naming websites, travel agents, and such, but that would seem to kind of defeat the purpose of this thread.

I saw solo fares in the $1500 range for an inside upper/lower room on October 2012 12-day Mediterranean sailings of the Carnival Breeze. (I live in the Middle East, and I realize that offers like these may be more attractive, when combined with airfare, than they may be to others on this thread.)

 

Yesterday (Friday) was the first time I visited the Carnival site, and I think I like it's booking process more than any other site; kind of like a la carte stateroom booking. Cool. Actually, because of this, you see that $1500 fare only after you select an Upper/Lower stateroom - after you have selected Interior stateroom type.

 

Not sure how comfortable I'd be on a twin bed for 12 nights, but I'm also not sure it's worth an extra $200 for a room with two twins that convert to a king.

has been in effect for as long as I have been on CC (9 years).

Back at the beginning of this thread I think there were posts about it.

If you can find a good price through the cruiseline you can post

that.....as for defeating the purpose of the thread? I understand

that comment but for "specific reasons" the moderators won't

answer you on the forum about "CC Policies"....my best suggestion

is to email them about it.

There are some good single rates combined with the senior (55+) rate on the Enchantment 8 nighter to Bermuda and New England in May. Inside cat N is $747.51 including fees and taxes. Comes to about $93/day.

Great single occupancy rates are available on the RCCL Adventurer of the Seas, 7 nights from San Juan on April 1 and 8. Promenade or Inside cabins are only $564 single occupancy, plus the taxes. Balcony cabins are $1059 single occupancy, plus the taxes.

 

How's the airfare? I found a great price for March but when I had a look at the airfares I was ready to choke. Even an overnight stay didn't drive the price down enough. I just booked the Enchantment out of Baltimore and I was so thrilled I can take Amtrak for $100. r/t. Maybe even less if they run a special.

RCL offers good single rates for some of Transatlantic cruises

Actually if you use Choice Air the cruise line seems to have arranged special rates with the airlines. I'm booked and the airfare would be over 3 times the Choice Air rate.

Great price but other lines were offering good t/a prices for singles with better itineraries. This one only makes one stop in Europe before reaching Barcelona.
