denmarks Posted September 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2008 Other than the Captain's Cocktail Party and a collectible stamp and passport, what benefits do Gold Membership members get on board? For example what special events or discounts.
Sea Hag Posted September 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2008 In our experience, there really isn't much in the way of benefits. You may get a past cruisers discount on new bookings, but that's iffy and it's about all I've ever seen. If anybody out there knows of some benefits I've been missing, I'd sure like to hear about them! :)
dutchess43 Posted September 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2008 I am a gold member(4 cruises) & I can't think of any other discounts then what sea hag posted.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2008 You really need to get to AT LEAST Platinum before you have any noticeable benefits as a past passengers on Princess. Elite status is where the benefits really kick in, but those don't begin until your 16th cruise with Princess, I'm afraid. Gold status just means you have cruised with Princess before, at least once. cruzinchris Posted September 28, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2008 The only onboard "benefit" for Gold members is an invitation to the Captain's Circle Cocktail Party. Chris
Pantix Posted September 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2008 I agree with the others. The only real benefit offered by Gold Status is that you are one your way to achieve a higher level of status. I don't know what level my father-in-law has, but one of his perks is unlimited free internet. Now, that's worth it!
paul929207 Posted September 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 28, 2008 They changed the internet credit for Platinum & Elite members a while back. Now you get $75, $100 or $200 internet credit depending on the length of the cruise
Sandytoes Posted September 28, 2008 #8 Share Posted September 28, 2008 Late 2009 CC Members who book early can enjoy an additional savings of $50-$300 per person off their cruise fare (for the first 2 passengers in the cabin, depending on itinerary and date). Now, that's worth it! stephanie, Nope, unlimited internet for Captain Circles Platinum and Elite is not a thing of the past. They began limiting it a while back. You might want to check with your FIL to let him know if it's been some time since he cruised Princess.
