Cruising Gal Posted February 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I'm always tempted by the hard sell at the spa to buy their products, which they assure me will help with everything from banishing wrinkles, cellulite, stress, and problems I never even knew I had until they told me about them! The cost, however, is usually pretty high and I always wonder, do these products actually work? Has anyone been happy with their products they purchased and if so, which ones? Thanks in advance! flamingo21401 Posted February 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I don't think so. I still have a bottle of the 'refreshing' gel sitting on my shelf from 3 cruises ago. Tell the therapist ahead of time that you are not interested in buying anything. It makes the whole treatment more relaxing. No hard sell to anticipate afterwards. If they use a produce that you really like you can always go back and purchase it later.

Rare PescadoAmarillo Posted February 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2009 If you have a dermatologist you use, talk with him/her about those types of products. Chances are you will be told that they are a total waste of money (as is much of the cheaper stuff available at your local drug store). Actually, that's a pretty good comeback to the hard sell...that your dermatologist has you on a regimen that you intend to stick with.
Grego Posted February 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2009 It seems that the only ones really happy with the sale of the Spa products are the Spa operators. I'm sure you can do better onshore. The real value is their recommendations if you can get it without purchase.
Rare Woobstr112G Posted February 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Don't we all already know about the hard sell? As the earlier poster stated. Just say not interested before you begin your spa treatment. cruiserjanet Posted February 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I took note of one of the products that I liked after I tried the tester and was able to get it much cheaper back at home. This was several cruises ago and I've purchased the product several times.
