The cruises we have been on, we usually booked through the ship or just wandered around by ourselves.

we used to only book through the ship as well. then i found cruise critic and started booking independently. what a difference! we will never book through the ship again. not only do we save some money, but the quality of the tours is so much better. have fun on your trip! :)

I think Victory was my favourite ship, and by far the most amazing itinerary.

We did the following:

San Juan - missed the ship, so ended up flying on a 9 seater to St. thomas

St. Thomas - taxi to the ship, and don't leave since we were so pleased to be there!

Dominica - Roseau Valley Best Tour with Levi Baron of Bumpiing tours - INCREDIBLE!!!!

Barbados - Helicopter tour of the island with Horizon Helicopters and Concorde Experience. Very cool.

St. Lucia - Land and Sea Combo to Soufriere through Carnival - nice tour

Antigua - Kayaking and Snorkel tour through Carnival - not the greatest we've ever done. Not our favourite stop.

St. Kitts - Scenic Rail tour booked through Carnival - really cool, definitely worthwhile for one time, and a nice relaxing tour to end a busy week

The ship is beautiful, in my opinion, and had a laid-back, easygoing feel .

I am so excited to be sailing the beautiful Victory again soon. After much research we have almost got our itinerary worked out for August.

St Thomas - Been there a few times so we may mosey off the ship at some point or we may just enjoy the ship.

Dominica - Levi Baron Roseau Valley Treasures Wet Tour plus Champagne Reef

Barbados - Shasa Catamaran snorkeling with turtles, etc.

St. Lucia - Spencer Ambrose full day tour including Jalousie Beach

Antigua - Renting a car so DH can show me all the places he visited back in the day

St. Kitts - Just planning on a beach day

View from my window in New Brunswick last summer. How cute is he??

That's what I thought too!

With a 10 p.m. departure time

I woulda thought that Victory would be just about impossible to miss!

Enquiring Minds need to know just how you missed this one! :D

We're beach people. We like heading into the various towns to shop and site see for a few hours then heading out to the closest/best beach to the ship. With 6 stops on this itinerary which are the best beaches that are close to the ship that have food and drinks and chairs, etc.?

I'm leaning toward (but open for suggestions):

St. Thomas: Megans Bay

Dominicana: Mero Beach

Barbados: Accra (ringer) :D

St. Lucia: Choc Bay

Antigua: Arkwood Beach

St. Kitts: Cockleshell Beach

Your comments are very welcome! :)

I am gonna go out on a limb, and say that since she lives in Canada, and her siggy says she cruised in December, that they missed departure in San Juan due to bad weather somewhere. We live in Texas, and I have heard more than once that "there won't be a delay because I am going from a warm climate to a warm climate, so no chance of getting snowed in." But folks forget that their plane may have had a connecting flight prior to theirs that WAS delayed, which throws everything off. On our very first cruise, we departed Tampa, and the first stop was Key West the next morning. As we got off, there was luggage waiting to go through the x-ray machine, someone had missed the ship due to a late flight, and had to drive all night to catch the ship in Key West. What a way to start a vacation!
