Dr65 Posted August 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We are planning a cruise on the Nautica next summer and have cabin #8039 reserved. Any opinions on deck 8 vs. deck 7 insides? Is there much noise from pool deck above? Thanks, Dr65
laurieb Posted August 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2009 we had an inside on deck 8 on the Tahitian Princess ( same deck floorplan) and loved it. Good location and no noise.
Rare LHT28 Posted August 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Size wise they will be the same. If worried about noise deck 7 may be a better choice
meow! Posted August 23, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2009 Since you are talking about an inside cabin, there will be no view anyway. So what is the benefit of being higher up?
TERRIER1 Posted August 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 23, 2009 We were in 8012 (I think) last year. We heard no noise whatsoever and the cabin let in no light. The difference of being on deck 8 versus deck 7 is that you get your luggage quicker and your cabin is available sooner on the day of embarkation since they ready the cabins according to floor and deck 8 is a penthouse floor. It was our first time on a cruise ship so we were clueless at that time.
ancientmariner Posted August 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 23, 2009 I've been in 8036. The only sound I heard was next door flushing, as the bathrooms are back-to-back. Nobody passes the front door of the inside cabins and it's a short sprint to the Terrace Cafe from Deck 8....handy if you oversleep.
jerseygirl3 Posted August 24, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2009 My sister and DH and their kids were recently on Insignia 8034. Aside from being rather small, they had no complaints about the cabin itself or the location.
nowaves1 Posted August 25, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2009 We were on eight with an inside cabin last year. Would book again no problem. As long as I was on Oceania I wouldnt care what cabin I was in. I think you will be happy with your choice. Dont worry.
cruzagain Posted August 29, 2009 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2009 We are planning a cruise on the Nautica next summer and have cabin #8039 reserved. Any opinions on deck 8 vs. deck 7 insides? Is there much noise from pool deck above? Thanks, Dr65 We had an inside cabin on deck 7 (Nautica) last year & was very quiet, this time I requested for the same deck but it is overbooked so my TA gave us a cabin on deck 8, hopefully everything will be fine according to comments here by members. Also, one thing I noticed that when checking in, they have a separate aisle for Concierge level (which is deck 7), so checking in was very quick. I also like the idea that the laundry room is on that deck, if there is a line up, I can easily check. Hope this helps.
Aussieafloat Posted August 29, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Hi, we cruised on Nautica in stateroom 7050 and the inside cabins are quiet and very comfortable. Loved it so much we are again booked into 7050 for the Hong Kong - Athens cruise next year. If you're on an Oceania ship you won't regret any choice of cabin. ferrytale Posted August 29, 2009 #11 Share Posted August 29, 2009 When in 7050, did you hear any noise from the other ajoining inside cabins( on another post, there was mention of toilet flushing)? Thanks.

I think on most ships that is a problem no matter what cabin location you have. Lyn
more from les Posted August 29, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Hi We were in 7050 on Regatta - and really enjoyed it. If you are claustrophobic at all use the TV and tune it to the BridgeCam channel and it will seem like a window. We did overhear some other passengers suggesting they would avoid the end of deck 7 near the laundry - a bit noisy some afternoons - and a soap smell in corridor? Not our experience in our stateroom however. Les
Aussieafloat Posted August 30, 2009 #14 Share Posted August 30, 2009 It was possible to hear the toilet flushing sometimes but we kept the bathroom door shut during the night so it didn't worry us at all.

roothy123 Posted September 2, 2009 #16 Share Posted September 2, 2009 I don't remember what cabin number it was, but we have had an inside cabin on deck 8 at least once on our 4 O cruises. It was very quiet. We didn't hear a thing, unless the people across the hall from us closed their door!

I don't think so, we didn't get any other perks except the quick check-in line-up for "concierge level only" which we took advantage of. Happy sailing.:)
Aussieafloat Posted September 21, 2009 #20 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Hi Cruzagain and LHT28, Thanks for the replies - quick check-in is fine, just going on the trip is 'perk' enough!! Cheers Di
