Wow! Free Cruise on Carnival

Are you sure it's really from Carnival and not from one of the questionable agencies that aren't really what they claim? We've received 'free cruise' offers from RCI and Celebrity recently, both of which turned out to be scams when we Googled the agency name (that is only listed in the VERY fine print!). Make sure to read it all. The Princess free cruise offer was very well publicized and verified by many people, while your offer may not be what it claims.

Carnival is doing it. There are posts on Cruise Critic's Carnival page about this.

People are paying some money - I assume taxes and fees. Some are booking balconies for a little bit more.

I am not surprised - there are so many births to fill, cruise lines have had to make adjustments.

I received the same letter and booked on the Sunshine May 30th. We chose balcony so it was $80 + port fees. $295 total for two people

My brother just got one of these... Its legit. I didn't (guess it's because I just got off a cruise a week ago lol). It's been since 2012 since he sailed. He's planning to take our mother, and trying to price it for a third person (though online it isn't letting us do it. He'll have to call them tomorrow. He's stoked!

3rd cruise: Carnival Legend, January 26th - February 2nd, 2014

Hey guys! First time posting, lurked forever. Just letting you know that this is 100% for real! My wife and I just booked over the phone, and got an 8 day Eastern Caribbean from NY on the Carnival Splendor...Cloud 9 spa interior to boot! It was only $284.14 before we prepaid gratuities :D

I'm not sure why we got this, but we are stoked and so grateful! I saw speculation on another board that it was for casino high-rollers, but we aren't gambling folk...last cruise was this past June or July on the same ship, my wife played the penny slots for maybe 5 mins, won $30.00 and we cashed out for the rest of the trip. LOL! And to think, we almost didn't check the mail today!

My best friend got the same letter in the mail, and he blows ridiculous amounts of money in the casino every time...so who knows what the criteria are :)

I was skeptical about the letter, even though there was no reference to any agency.

So I went to Carnival.com and looked under my VIFP number and there it was.

Actually there they "were". More than a few choices, including several cruises in the Carnival Live series.

Got the same cruise for May that I would have had in the middle of hurricane season, upgraded from inside to balcony. Tax,tag out the door a savings of $2,000.

This is our ninth Carnival cruise together.

I think it is just the luck of the draw, the other 4 people that traveled with us didn't receive a letter.

Could have choosen a 15 day Hawaii but can't get that much time off work. Also a Alaska cruise was available but DH doesn't want to go to Alaska.

I received a letter from Carnival offering me a free cabin to be used by a certain date. The letter stated a 4A but when I called they said they had a balcony available. We just returned from our cruise on the 26th of January. We had a great "free cruise." It only cost us $102 pp for taxes.

My PVP told me this morning that the free cruises were offered to some people that spent alot in the casino. I told him that I have been reading about people that didn't spend any in the casino and getting one...so then he sent me an email back and said that was strange because all the ones he has dealt with played the casino............:confused:

We didn't spend a penny in the casino on our last Carnival cruise, and we rarely drink, but we received the offer. I am guessing it has more to do with demographics, and when you last sailed.

My usual cabinmate got one yesterday. She doesn't gamble AT ALL.. in fact, the only reason she even comes into the casino is to find me to tell me where to find her when I'm done!!!

I can't wait for her to book so I know when I'm cruising again!!!
